member site protection that works with cdn's - spam me

I guess this isn't possible, but hey, I'm gonna throw it out there in case someone has something that can help protect....

Member site video content is on CDN:
cdn.content1.site.com
cdn.content2.site.com
cdn.content3.site.com

etc
etc

the member site is on
members.site.com

and the script protecting the content ie dissing it up if member is logged in, or member payed for 1 vid only, resides on content1,2,3, but the actual content is dissed up from cdn.

Anyway to protect the member content from
1. password sharing - regular run-of-the-mill member protection scripts should be able to do this as it's regular apache mysql_auth for login
2. content ripping - more impossible as content is distributed

If it's poss for 1+2, give me a holler

thanks

your cdn provider should offer some sort of way protect content. this wouldn't really have anything to do with a members site script.

There is no way to protect something thats not on your servers.

I second that. Hands down, the folks at ProxyPass offer the BEST service in the business.

This is the most likely scenario. Usually the CDN offers some type of API to generate time expiring links, links restricted to IP address, etc..

This is what I thought, which is why I threw the question out there...

Proxigence proved me wrong, showing that their solution, ProxyPass is capable of this. Some minor modifications to how member authentication is passed around, that's all.

Before CWIE even launched their CDN, we worked with them to make sure
Strongbox and their CDN work well together. Today Strongbox works fine
with every CDN I've seen.

Phantom Frog is CDN compliant. Besides the Hi-Res Geo-IP Tracking pass abuse detection, we also feature turnkey 24/7 Automated Member Support (AMS). AMS comes as standard equipment out of the box. Keeps your webmaster and members happy.
