Anyone know anything about MyFreeCams.com?

It's a popular webcam community from what I can see with a low Alexa rating, but with no affiliate program apparently? I guess they only sell tokens for private chats with the models. Just curious if anyone from the company participated here on the forum or any other background info about the site or company. One of the readers of a blog I run pointed the site out to me, and I was just curious to know more about it, and see if there was possibly any business to be done.

models can make a killing on there compared to other sites. I know a few who are easily doing $2-4k a week without working 12 hours a day.

they're probably getting double the payout that the big cam sites pay their models because they aren't paying affiliates 30%

I've been checking out myfreecams the last year and its really grown. They give the models a lot more freedom to decide how they want to generate customer spends. With the token concept, instead of prepaying for privates, many of the models will get naked and perform for nothing with the idea that some will pay them as a thank you, and it works. As Mutt said, I think the models earn a larger % of the revenue they bring in vs normal cam programs because of the lack of an affiliate payout in most instances. Lately, I've seen some well known cam models from some of the larger programs give mfc a shot.

those explicit shows are NOT free, those girls giving those shows are 'working for tips' they set a certain amount and as it gets closer and closer to that amount (by people in chat tipping tokens) the show gets more and more... well... explicit.

I've been in a room and have seen 1 model generate over 50,000 tokens doing an open room show, there were, I bet she made more doing a tip show then she can in a private show ;)

only BIG prob with that site, it's FULL of /B/ tards lol, there's at least 10 threads about that site every few hours lol

This pay system sounds pretty good.... the cam girl see the tips build up which could be say 50p from each viewer and becuase there are hundreds of guys online that money piles up and she just strips for everyone.... I think....

Well the model can be taken private, or set a token level to perform a certain act as a group show. However, some models do indeed get naked for nothing and rely on "thank you" type tips and also entice the viewers to take her private to perform more explicit acts. Other sites have embraced the "group" viewing concept, but mfc seems to give their models full freedom to entice the viewers how they want. It seems like a site that quickly weeds out the less attractive models or those who will only reveal on privates, as those girls spend a couple weeks making nothing and are never seen again.

The only problem I see with this concept is that it appears there are a large amount of bandwidth draining free loaders who float from model to model and are never going to spend. I know you get that with other cam sites, but because many of the models are naked in public chat you get a much higher amount on mfc. Only thing I'd change is to make everyone register to view the cams, as of now you can view cams and chat as just a guest. I realize registration does scare off a small amount of visitors, but if someone isn't going to register then they'll most likely never spend also.

Funny enough you pretty much said the exact same thing I did BUT you did expound on a few more areas that I skipped over.

With that said I'll expound a bit more ;)

There are three ways to "see a show" right now on MFC

(1) model working for tips (when you get to a "room" like this is normally says something like this in the "welcome message" X amount of tips for a "_____" Public show, ANYONE in the room can tip, and once the tip = the asked for amount the model preforms the "promised event" Now during said event MORE tips normally come in from other viewers in the room, I've seen a model rack up 50,000 tokens during a "free show" and that works out to about $5,000 in cash if you were to BUY those tokens (see below)

(2) Model gives a "group Show" where a set token amount is set let's say 15k in tokens and that amount is split up between X amount of viewers, viewers pay, model plays.

Model gets say 15k in tokens as opposed to the 50k I've seen in a public show

(3) Model gives a private show (pretty self explanatory here)

currently tokens cost between .10 each - .08 each depending on how many you buy at one time, I am NOT aware the split the model gets per point BUT as I said above I've seen "Public shows" rack up 50,000 tokens to the model

considering my figures above I don't see the bandwidth as a real big big issue, I've personally seen MANY MANY tokens flowing in public rooms, honestly depending on how much Leo gives the girls the cash side of that site SEEMS to be insane!

I agree that everyone should register first, if only to wade out the underage viewers that are coming from /B/ and other places, but then again fill in a fake birthday and your still good to go, I would go as far as making them sign up for say $1.00 (flat out no more no less) via a credit-card and then give them 100 tokens (instead of only 10 tokens for $1.00 which you can't buy less then 200 anyway) THAT would not only bring in some revenue BUT prevent all the freeloaders, once a user pays $1.00 and SEE'S what they can have they will most likely convert again and again as a full member.

I HIGHLY doubt Leo will change up his biz model cause even though "he's doing it wrong" IT'S WORKING ;)

In beta he did revshare and I'm not sure what % it was since I wasn't a part of it but now he's paying $2 per free sign up (= confirming their email). He dropped revshare after beta and is only keeping his beta testers in that program. Everyone else gets $2 per member.
