    Short circuit, fire, say bye-bye to my car (PICS)... not good

    I got one of those little Smart cars on loan the next 2 days until the insurance guy comes to sort out all the paperwork & damages.

    Not sure if repair is an option here. And the smell is unbelievable bad too.
    Looks like my car has gone to car heaven.

    Good thing the car was airtight. That's why the fire stopped when oxygen ran out and smoke smothered the fire. Otherwise it could have blown up and the rest of my co-workers cars at the parking lot too.

      Meltcades. Good thing it didn't cause a chain reaction, and nobody was hurt.

      What would have caused a fire there?

                                                                          The insurance girl on the phone was kind enough to say; "Oh, I see you have a 3 year full coverage for historical cost price you bought it for...after 20 seconds she added that it expired 3 months ago.... So Now I get 110% of the current market value...which means a fight with the insurance guys to determine what that would be exactly."

                                                                                  but, you would figure that would have popped a fuse to prevent the fire. is this maybe a manufacturing defect?
