Paying people $5 to try out $1-$2.95 trials?

Ok before you bombard this with replies about chargeback problems here this out..

    Main idea
-Offer to pay visitors $5 for trying out a paysites trial offer ($1-$2.95 or w/e).
-They signup, it gets confirmed, $5 gets sent out (how tbd).

    The chargebacks
-You make it clear on the site that they cannot do a chargeback on this, obviously they still can but it doesnt seem like the chargeback ratio would be must worse than normal if at all if you made this clear.
-Tell them they can cancel at any time and keep the $5, say it will rebill in X days, blah blah, all the usual stuff.
-If sponsors sites retain as good as they say then this shouldnt really be a problem, its not like they dont already have the option of cancelling or charging back already.
-I dont think this would lure a bunch of chargebackers if done right, It would just give the average person whos still on the fence about joining that extra little incentive, obviously certain webmasters would abuse it but just get approval first.
-If scamming visitors wanted to abuse this with stolen cc's I think they would be joining the affiliate program and reaping the the PPS instead.

Would be cheaper to offer free trials, less work too.

so you're depending on the surfers larceny/greed to entice them to signup. kinda like the last hotel i stayed at offered me $30 rebate by mail if i join some sort of fucking rewards club for $30 month that I can "cancel anytime" heheh. most people desire to get something for nothing and beat the system, and these are not going to be your best nor recurring customers cause if they get billed its going to be purely an accidental slipup and they wont be happy. you should let your content do the selling and if its not up to par then....

Correct, so they will probably file a chargeback, but pretty much everyone that's joining through a cheap trial plans on cancelling before the rebill, and then does a chargeback when they forget.. I do think chargebacks would increase if you tried something like this, but after thinking about it I don't understand why..

If it's actually done legit and honestly, does it still cause problems? What happens? It seems like it would run just like any other trial except they're getting it for free.

Although I agree I don't think something like this would necessarily increase sales much at all.
