How Early Should You Get to a...

    Concert?

A gf had received a pair of tickets to Daughtry for tomorrow. They play at 7:30, opening act at 6.

I have not been to a concert in years, so I am thinking an hour early. But I really do not know. So best guess for what to expect and plan ahead for? Other than parking?

An hour early should be fine. You will have plenty of time to play with her feet.

This is Michigan. I do not think that will be happening. Its winter.

            not sure about that one

I usually show up after the first has already started, depending on who they are and how badly I want to see them, but most of the concerts I have been to don't tell you when the headliner is scheduled exactly

... and like CYF said, most concerts start late, at least the headliners for sure (but with yours I'd be careful because they have given you a time already)

Really depends on the venue. If it's small, you can go pretty late. If it's large, parking and entrance can be a total bitch... not to mention the crowds and getting to your seat.

If you're going for the headliner, it also works great to show up during the opener. The crowds are not running around in the hallways so you can easily get a beer and to your seats.

All about the parking sir. Where you want to park, how much you want to pay for parking, and how far you want to walk from and to the car. Want a good close space get there EARLY. Don't care, well go closer to the main act.

Maybe if you turn up the heat hard in the car she get's sweaty and takes her socks off??

Half hour early is typically good enough. Like others have mentioned the shows typically start at least a half hour late but getting there a half hour early gives you a chance to get a beer, check out your merch, find your seat.

take a taxi there, and head to an after party at a nightclub after, that way you can party and not have to worry about driving

I've met famous bands before doing that by ending up at the right club after a big concert

I got there to the concert an hour early. Easy parking in and out. However, this could vary by venue. This concert was at the Breslin Center on Michigan State's campus. Decent field house, good 95% capacity at concert.

I personally found the warm up acts better than Daughtry....

                                    Theory of a Deadman

I have to say that Theory had the best act, and light show in my opinion as well as best music. I had never heard of the first two acts. But I didn't mind them.

                                    Thanks for the info.

Depends on if you want to see the opening acts. I usually don't and usually show up an hour to an hour and a half after the concert starts - to get their during the intermission before the main act goes on.

I was just along for the ride. However, I have to admit. I liked the opening acts far more than the headliner in this particular case.
