seems to me a fundamental difference between them and tubes is the crazy level of skim.

with tubes, 1-click gets you to what you want, with MGP/TGP it's a click and cross your fingers.

problem is that TGP/MGP sites are still following old school rules of skimming.

on mine, i try and send the first few clicks to galleries, then skim after that otherwise the person will just bounce.

i have noticed more and more tube sites starting to skim traffic

well, i think that is a good thing, if the tubes are skimming like that then.

Skimming has always been a horribly unproductive activity IMHO. You have a surfer clicking a link or thumb for a gallery and WHAM you load a new site, pissing off he surfer (unquestionably).
And people WANT that traffic? no thank you.

not only that, but if you click thru the skimmed sites long enough you will ultimately click to an untrustworthy site.

then the trust of the original site is lost.

They thrive on it. The site might get more bookmarkers but will lose traffic from trades at a significant rate. There's only a few sites (and webmasters) who can pull that off.

Absolutely. I surfed a bunch of mgp's last night for vintage stuff and got tossed to so many sites it was just sick. First of all, I dont remember the original site I was on, nor any of the others, and some had questionable content, and some of them fucked with browser history when I closed them (reopening their own site and closing the previous. Shit like that, yeah that'll make me WANT to surf on your site, moron).

Anyway.. to each their own and I wish all good luck.

There is no way back. MGPs and TGPs will continue droping traffic against Tube sites...

I think tgps/mgps would have done better with no skimming before tubes, during tubes, and after tubes. Just to clarify.

The skimming for other equally poor skimmed traffic is the thing. Hopefully tubes will avoid this inevitable trap.

For every 1 non skimming tube there is 10 hardcore skimming tubes.

Their business model is simply to sell traffic. Check any of the top sellers to any of the brokers and they are skimming tubes.

                            TGP / MGP

I have my skim very mild compared to most and therefore make better sales then most, however it is definetly harder to build traffic that way but its definetly possible through smart webmastering and great seo.

I send about 70 to 75 percent to content while alot send 50 to 60. Its a HUGE difference in hits to sponsors and sales. I dunno, as long as its a profitable business model for me ill continue to make a living from it.

                              Depends.

Just like a difference in tubes, there is a difference in TGPS. Some are for traffic, some are for sign ups and sales. There typically is not 'one' definition for these TGP/tubes as they vary.
