What is the going rate for a video editor to...

This is for a mainstream project. I'll shoot all the video, I'll get someone to do the voice overs. I'll upload the data to a server. The editor pulls it down and creates a video using what I gave him.


I don't need a great video editor, I just need someone to put the pieces together. Someone overseas would be great as they are the cheapest!

Videos are 2-3 mins long

Well it all depends, if you are really bad at shooting you will need a GREAT and most likely expensive editor....

If you are really good at shooting, well then i would say install a basic editing program and do it yourself if you are not willing to pay a professional.

I don't have time to learn timelines and shit. I rather outsource it. I can buy a nice camera, trip pod whatever. These don't have to be fantastic. Just want the videos for web visitors.

I do editing, and voice overs as well, just depends on what you need done whether I have the time to do it.

I've edited for adult and non-adult projects. Shoot me an e-mail with what a description of what you need done (a link to an example would be perfect), and how much you're offering. Outsourcing the work overseas runs the risk of communication errors due to language barrier and a lack of accountability with them being so far away.

Sounded to me lik eyou want the cheapest deal possible for a monkey's job.

I told exactly how to do it yourself easily without knowing how. you could do it and have your video done way quicker than sending to another waiting... or really even the time it takes to make this thread and watch it.

Im talking 5 minutes tops...

It always amazes me that people expect someone to understand concepts of expensive or cheap, when they don't want to provide a baseline.

The mainstream traditional DVD distro Porn Valley companies all pay on average $10 an hour. Usually they provide the equipment. If you hire a freelancer with their own equipment, I think it is appropriate to pay more than the Valley does, but that's the baseline. Hope this helps.
