So off we go to Chatsworth to train with Just Dave XXX at his friend's BJJ school. I brought one of my partners from Canada to try out some grappling as he's been a big fan of MMA.
Not even a minute on the mats, Just Dave calls me over and says, "Let's roll, let me see what you got". It's been 6 months since I last trained due to a pulled shoulder, and I'm apprehensive going up against one of JJ Machado's first dozen Black Belts, even if he's one of my best buddies.
So after two minutes of getting my ass beat, I tried to do the warmup for the school. I'm not ashamed to say I couldn't finish it, and had to run to the bathroom to throw up. Didn't actually, but dry heaved a bit. The Adrenal Dump was too much that night, and no matter what I tried to do to Dave, he just reversed it and pretty much laughed at me.
All in all, loved being back on the mats, and if you are in the chatsworth area and want to train, you should show up and train! All levels welcome. I've been doing it about 5 years on and off, and Dave makes everyone look like a rank white belt beginner. No better way to get some stress out, exercise, and learn how to fight.
Next open mat is Friday, if you are in the area, let's get a big open mat to train.
