Gerard if you don't hear back from this guy hope you post about it. If he isn't a customer with an actual issue he should be banned. :2 cents:

I love these threads where the title is always "[X Company] sucks", or "[X Company] is shit!" and then the post is nothing more than a few words or even better just a smiley.. you can always trust these kinds of threads to contain solid information and advice.

Davy 10-19-2009 01:22 PM

Yeah. Give us the whole story, man!

Doctor Feelgood 10-19-2009 02:16 PM

Webair rocks... and Gerard, the techs and the stuff has been always uber helpful to me. Just checked my stats and I can assure you there was no downtime here.

split_joel 10-19-2009 02:29 PM

I will say Mike seems like a good guy and I have heard good things about the staff,if something happened my guess is they did there best to fix it as fast as possible and if it took all day it was prob a hardware issue just my :2 cents:

CyberHustler 10-19-2009 04:33 PM

I tried webair. I'm with phat.

kush 10-19-2009 05:01 PM

I didn't like webair virtual when I tried it, and I hear mixed things about dedicated.

If downtime costs you that much why don't you have a backup plan in place?

That's like the guy who complained he lost thousands of dollars in orders because his DSL was down for a couple of days. Why didn't he pay a small fraction of those thousands of dollars to self insure himself by getting a backup link?

Va2k 10-19-2009 05:57 PM

wow how can this be that someone comes here and say's this shit and without proof still be allowed to post? No complaints from me with webair!

ThumbLord 10-19-2009 06:05 PM

well there is a board newly launched where this will/would not be happening but heh it is not allowed to link to other boards, so you better find it yourself, just look for the info on any news sites.

18teens 10-19-2009 06:34 PM

Webair is the worst host I have ever been with. They seriously suck ass.

$1K in lost sales and your on virtual hosting? The bullshit is strong with this one....

CunningStunt 10-19-2009 10:21 PM

Never host anything of value on cheap / shared servers, anywhere, with any company, end of story.

Unless you're saying it was on a dedicated box, in which case you have every right to flame away.

ContentPimp 10-19-2009 11:03 PM

I'm no 'webair' fan boy

but (just like everyone) I am a big fan of cheap, reliable and good service <-- this product mix is very hard to find

when i signed up initially at webair i got bad hardware, my site would crash every day or two, techs tried everything for a few days, disabling this and that to isolate the problem, in the end it was the server itself, and i got a new one and a month free credit too...

since then no downtime (knock on wood) and, what's most important to me at least, is the quick turnaround on support inquiries, they have live chat in the control panel, manned by some really cool tech guys all the time... so that's why I like webair/use webair and haven't switched...

I must say that I was pretty frusterated dealing with Webair initially, especially the initial setup, but after having Gerard take over my account it has been smooth sailing ever since.:thumbsup

what "lie number" are we at now?

st0ned 10-20-2009 08:52 AM

I don't have time to sort through the two pages to see what has and has not been said, I just want to drop in my experiences with Webair.

First off, Webair is by far my best host out of the 7+ I currently host with (been with at least 10 different companies over the years). Not going to name names of the others since most of them conduct business here.

1) Their live support feature is AWESOME. Not that I need support that often, but whenever I do they are immediately available via live help through all hours of the night.

2) When I requested to have some extra RAM added to my server I was informed by Gerard that they would take care of it for me at no additional cost. I was more than willing to pay for it. I guess after being a customer for well over two years they decided they weren't going to charge me. I cannot name ONE other host that has done something like this for me. To me, that speaks volumes about their service.

3) The uptime is unrivaled amongst my other hosts. I have server monitoring and get alerts every time one of my servers is down, I get these weekly from my other hosts, but VERY VERY rarely from webair.

I am not on the Webair payroll nor am I getting an incentive to post this. I believe in blessing those who treat you right and run their business correctly. As each year passes less companies offer genuine customer service, nobody seems to care about the individual customer anymore. So I will continue to praise Webair for their amazing support/service.

:2 cents:

Iron Fist 10-20-2009 09:32 AM

Nothing new st0ned.

Same thing with my host Colo-Cation... all my stuff is managed, but downtime is non-existent as well as when I asked them if I should pay more since I was using alot more bandwidth recently, they didn't even flinch, I still asked them to bump me up anwyays, because it's only fair.

Going on 3 years with them and never happier, and never need to worry about my sites. Ever.

Should I need immediate support, I can literally call direct to Chris and he answers the phone. Yeah that's right, I don't need to filter though some offshore live support, I speak to the guy who's sitting right where the servers are... mind you I haven't needed to do this very often, since uptime is awesome.

Anyways... sometimes I take a few hosts to find the one that's perfect for you.

Im sorry, but thats just bad business.

WTF are you talking about, abusing the system how? The way I'm reading this, it sounds like you are complaining that something written on a page hosted on their servers offended people, you asked them to take it down, and they didn't. But... that can't be right, because that would make them a good host, and you a crying douchebag.

Kimo 10-20-2009 11:25 AM

i've used webair for 3 years now and i am very happy with them
