why do they even bother trying to join a paysite to begin with if they know that they do not have enough money in their bank account to cover the membership?

I was thinking about this the other day for rebills that get declined. Is the processor not allowed to try to rebill a few times? You'd think they would try a few times, but maybe there is a policy or law against trying more than once? -
We had a small issue earlier today with a trial > full rebill and CCBill informed us they do actually try a couple of times to hit the card before actually declining it, at least on rebills, wonder if that could be the same for initial sales though, that is a good thought if there was some kind of law stopping this on the initial transaction.Condom Cash - Gay Affiliate Program

it may also be they have limits on their credit card so they dont get nailed.
when i was testing out a few sites before, i set the limit on my virtual card to exactly what the charge will be + $1 for the authorization and i was surprised to see how many other transactions tried to come in.. but this was back 2 years ago when x-sales were king $$
probably a lot of people are living on almost maxed our credit cards so its not a surprise. if they are using a debit card, sometimes the bank will front them the credit if it overdraws their account so they can rape you for overdraft feesEmail: Clicky on MeComment

Id like to see them do it like over a 3 to 5 day period. I just think of losing like a long billing customer just because for whatever reason his account was at 0 that day, or neg. Where in a day or two he may have his paycheck deposited etc. Its not just 1 month you lose, the subscription is ended at that point and the chance of getting them to sign back up again is next to nil normally since they are now pissed off probably that their subscription was canceled etc.We had a small issue earlier today with a trial > full rebill and CCBill informed us they do actually try a couple of times to hit the card before actually declining it, at least on rebills, wonder if that could be the same for initial sales though, that is a good thought if there was some kind of law stopping this on the initial transaction.Comment

Maybe they get paid direct deposit tomorrow and think their debit card will just over draft but be covered by midnight...“If you can convince the lowest white man he’s better than the best colored man, he won’t notice you’re picking his pocket. That is correct, and in many cases you can also have a declined rebill retry at a lower amount. If that is declined you can have it try again and lower the amount another time. It really all comes down to how badly you want to retain that member. No OneComment

Ahh ok thanks for clarifying that. So when we get the email saying the rebill was declined is that after all attempts have been made to rebill, or is that sent out after the initial decline? Im assuming its after all attempts have been made, but just want to know for sure.
