I've been to the Vatican, it is quite a breath taking place. Tons of great artwork and history. Everyone should see the Michaelangelo fresco and to be frank, Italy in general. Simply amazing.

Thats one of the reasons I like going to church ... not overly because of the recycled content of the sermons etc, but because of the cool atmosphere, great people, and always feel good for 1-2 days after

when i went to Rome the cabbie robbed me - the hotel changed my reservation and sent me to a shit hole - then we got food poisoning. Don't want to go back.

but the history there is AMAZING. love the more roman stuff though

thats pretty crazy. one thing i wish i was able to do when I was there last year was to visit the Vatican more, but didnt have a whole lot of time. tried to squeeze in Rome in about a day and a half, then get back up to Venice before we had to leave.

Next time I would probably spend a few days there

although now that i think about it i remember they just didn't let me inside the st. pauls cathedral - rest of the Vatican was ok. but maybe they also relaxed a little, i was there in 1990

I am not religious these days and when I was I was protestant but if I ever get to Rome you better believe I am going to the Vatican too. It is like how I love Canterbury Cathedral over here. You don't have to be religious to be impressed by architecture and history.
