This is what he should do.

Give exactly no personal info or credit card numbers. Have him deposit the 10 grand into your epassporte account or send you a check. Once the check clears, you transfer domain.

Nothing more and nothing less. Dont' be paying any appraisal fees or enrolling in any programs or paying any "SERVICE FEES".

This site could be worth millions. What do I know? Like I said pay for nothing make sure you get one full clump 10k payment right up front.

I don't think anyone will argue with this procedure who isn't in on something.

haha wow, I'm done with you. So you have no comment about domain value you now want to randomly change the discussion to how he's going to accept payment. Yes, because that's what this thread is about, I mean all the times he brought up method of payment and what service, (if any) he used to list the domain.

My suggestion to you is......Shoot yourself in the head, you're damaged.

$10,000 is a life savings yo. Who wants to invest that in a business that can't make as much as my TGP with an adwords campaign? :1orglaugh

edit:

Oh BTW, CRACKPIPES, GOOGLE ADWORDS TEXTILES, $10,000 IN YOUR EPASS ACCOUNT, CHINESE CHECKS, CONVERSIONS, SERVICE FEES AND CASH TRANSACTIONS.

I hope I made myself clear.

Dude I just think you're a moron scammer (and not even a good one).

People dont' get rich by (*corrected buy to by for moron scammer) being stupid and wasting their money on stupid worthless shit so there (*corrected their to there for moron scammer) goes that.

This site is not seo valuable and it's not visually valuable, so even a rich person tailor who doesn't know what (*lost the 's for moron scammer) he's doing on the web wouldn't look at it and go, "that's the site I need!"

And the name? (adding a question mark for moron scammer but this is really a just a phrase so I hope he approves) Are you out of you're fucking mind?! That's like McDonald's paying ten grand for a site that's called yourburger(dot)com LOL :1orglaugh:1orglaugh I guess maybe for a tax write off.

I mean, Dude REALLY, start sending around those letters about your international banks or something.

Yeah sure, listen 10k is 10k. Even the super rich understand what 10k is. Most did not end up being rich by treating money like it is nothing since they make millions per day or for instance poor Mr. Gates who was loosing $34,246.58 per minute, every minute in 2009 or in a larger numbers that is $18,000,000,000.00 which is just to fucking big to wrap your head around.

Anyways most of these people are often not just roaming around looking for parked domains. Odds would say if someone that successfull would have already bought every domain that goes with their business's long ago. Unless of course it was a new acquisition of a company, even then I am pretty sure it would just feel different and you would not see such numbers just tossed about. Even if they are billionaires they are still not going to try to get the best deal possible. Hell ever watch that show Shark Tank (yes rip off of British version), anyways pay attention to how Kevin O'Leary acts. (assuming you do not know much about his eco investments.

Thanks. I fascinate lots of people, but it's always nice to add a new fan.

Basically you are telling a guy his site is worth 10 grand when it is obviously not to anyone with the power to masturbate without assistance. For you to persist that it is and make him think he might not be being set up makes me suspicious.

Again to each his own, but I'm just thinking about how he should approach everything with much caution and you keep insisting that nothing suspicious is going on.

This is nothing against his site. I've seen much worse. It's just that most people pay a lot less for much better.

I keep insisting that nothing is suspicious? Seriously, is there an imaginary discussion going in your head? No where, ANYWHERE, did the original poster talk about the transaction nor did I.

All I said is a domain for sale is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, and I could see someone that runs a custom clothing tailor biz to see the value in the name. From that you derived I'm a scammer. :1orglaugh You're lucky I don't do business on this forum, you should use a little common sense before calling people scammers. :2 cents:

It goes to my original argument, who cares that people paid less for a name you perceive as better? If the buyer is willing to pay $10,000 for a brandable name he likes then that's what it's worth to him.

"well worth" "viable tailor" just to give you the benefit of the doubt. You are either a complete idiot or involved in a grift.

Then you went on to infer that this site could even possibly make more than a bad adult tgp. One adult sign up in any niche would make more than this site probably makes all month

I stand by my comment, custom clothing tailor businesses can make a lot of money. SO YES, THE DOMAIN NAME IS WORTH THE MONEY IF THE BUYER PLANS ON USING IT FOR A VIABLE TAILOR BUSINESS. It's a brandable name. it's short and it makes perfect sense.

Do you have any clue how much custom tailored clothes cost? Do a google search, it's not uncommon for people to pay upwards of $3,000 for a single custom tailored suit.

Yes, it's my opinion that if someone has $10,000 to drop on a domain name for his biz it's probably going to make a lot more than your shitty TGP that gets one sale per month. :1orglaugh

For an online tailor made suit or shirt company that plans on having a strong brand, I do believe this domain is worth a lot.

Tailored suits are a $6bn a year industry, and we're only just starting to see the rise of sites taking advantage of this market online (see http://www.youngupstarts.com/2009/05...you-just-fine/ for eg.)

The whole reason I purchased this domain was to get in on something like this but I have other pressing projects and priorities.

Its just a domain, there is no site. Its parked.

The money should be hitting escrow.com in the next few days. Honestly, I'm going to be sad to see it go; but my bet is that its these guys who want to buy it:

Some people just can't comprehend how viable certain industries are.

Come back to us when the money is transferred, the idiot posting above me somehow thinks I'm the one selling you the domain and I'm scamming you. Congrats on the sale. :) You got a great price for a parked domain, and the buyer got a great domain name to use for his biz.

smutnut 10-08-2009 12:58 PM

You are both speculating morons and have a good time with yourselves. You can pull figures out of your ass as to how much an industry makes until Jesus returns but that doesn't mean your pathetic asses are going to make anything in any industry, which is proven by the fact that the site is being sold.

If anyone is paying you 10 grand they are dumber than both of you (since even though the idiot doesn't know it, it is a parked site) and if you don't take the cash without any question you should be the ones blowing your brains out.

Why you even asked this question and posted this thread and then try to question the responses is way beyond me :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

People dont get rich by writing a bunch of checks, I realise that and agree it's something to always keep in mind.

I'm just trying to open up some minds to other ways of thinking. 10k for a domain is NOT ALWAYS a scam, lol. I have a domain I wouldnt sell for under 1 million, and I dont even care what someone on a board thinks, it's just what I think it could be worth to the right buyer and I'm not even selling, lmao.

Not that it applies to this situation necessarily, but I think sometimes people just say it is a scam without any possibility that it could be true, and often times it can be and IS true.

smutnut 10-08-2009 01:02 PM

Should I take ten grand for a parked domain? Don't know, let me get some advice.

So to recap, I am a scammer, your piece of shit TGP will make more with one sale than the owner of a custom tailored clothing business who has $10gs to drop on a brandable domain, buying this domain is the same as McDonalds buying "yourburger.com", something about "adword textiles" and there is no way conversions will compare to adult.

Lets bow our heads to this genius, no need to innovate and invest in new business ideas that are apart of virtually untapped billion dollar industries. Lets just run TGPs and make $100 month and talk like we know everything. :)

I think its certainly a fair amount, I'm assuming you didn't pay much for it. I agree, its most likely the owners of the .net who are making the purchase. Just curious, how did the negotiations go, did they originally make a much smaller offer?

Mickey_ 10-08-2009 01:19 PM

Stop arguing with each other for a second and consider this:

Someone comes up with a novel/useful idea that is somehow relqted to tailor services, his market gap analysis confirms that there is indeed a need for his idea, puts together a solid business plan and pitches it to VC's. He gets funding, op's domain seems to reflect his idea/service (whatever that may be, perhaps a solution to something that's currently missing or could be improved in how everyday people use/interact with/find,etc tailors). On top of this he knows YouTube is one of the best known brands online so the domain should also be easy to brand. 10k might be a very small portion of his funding.

My point being there's life beyond tubes, tgps and adwords.
If the idea pulls x mil the first year, was the buyer still 'an idiot'? A bad negotiator maybe. Look at the big picture.

Brujah 10-08-2009 01:21 PM

Congrats, great deal for buyer/seller. I love tailored shirts. Youtailor.net doesn't took too bad either.

exactly, there's a few saville row tailors who can command A LOT more too, like $50 grand.
