People dont' get rich by (*corrected buy to by for moron scammer) being stupid and wasting their money on stupid worthless shit so there (*corrected their to there for moron scammer) goes that. This site is not seo valuable and it's not visually valuable, so even a rich person tailor who doesn't know what (*lost the 's for moron scammer) he's doing on the web wouldn't look at it and go, "that's the site I need!" And the name? (adding a question mark for moron scammer but this is really a just a phrase so I hope he approves) Are you out of you're fucking mind?! That's like McDonald's paying ten grand for a site that's called yourburger(dot)com LOL :1orglaugh:1orglaugh I guess maybe for a tax write off. I mean, Dude REALLY, start sending around those letters about your international banks or something. |
it's probably some scame :2 cents:

Anyways most of these people are often not just roaming around looking for parked domains. Odds would say if someone that successfull would have already bought every domain that goes with their business's long ago. Unless of course it was a new acquisition of a company, even then I am pretty sure it would just feel different and you would not see such numbers just tossed about. Even if they are billionaires they are still not going to try to get the best deal possible. Hell ever watch that show Shark Tank (yes rip off of British version), anyways pay attention to how Kevin O'Leary acts. (assuming you do not know much about his eco investments. |

Basically you are telling a guy his site is worth 10 grand when it is obviously not to anyone with the power to masturbate without assistance. For you to persist that it is and make him think he might not be being set up makes me suspicious. Again to each his own, but I'm just thinking about how he should approach everything with much caution and you keep insisting that nothing suspicious is going on. This is nothing against his site. I've seen much worse. It's just that most people pay a lot less for much better. |

All I said is a domain for sale is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, and I could see someone that runs a custom clothing tailor biz to see the value in the name. From that you derived I'm a scammer. :1orglaugh You're lucky I don't do business on this forum, you should use a little common sense before calling people scammers. :2 cents: Quote:

Then you went on to infer that this site could even possibly make more than a bad adult tgp. One adult sign up in any niche would make more than this site probably makes all month |

Yes, it's my opinion that if someone has $10,000 to drop on a domain name for his biz it's probably going to make a lot more than your shitty TGP that gets one sale per month. :1orglaugh |
For an online tailor made suit or shirt company that plans on having a strong brand, I do believe this domain is worth a lot.
Tailored suits are a $6bn a year industry, and we're only just starting to see the rise of sites taking advantage of this market online (see http://www.youngupstarts.com/2009/05...you-just-fine/ for eg.) The whole reason I purchased this domain was to get in on something like this but I have other pressing projects and priorities. Its just a domain, there is no site. Its parked. The money should be hitting escrow.com in the next few days. Honestly, I'm going to be sad to see it go; but my bet is that its these guys who want to buy it: http://www.youtailor.net/ |

Come back to us when the money is transferred, the idiot posting above me somehow thinks I'm the one selling you the domain and I'm scamming you. Congrats on the sale. :) You got a great price for a parked domain, and the buyer got a great domain name to use for his biz. |
You are both speculating morons and have a good time with yourselves. You can pull figures out of your ass as to how much an industry makes until Jesus returns but that doesn't mean your pathetic asses are going to make anything in any industry, which is proven by the fact that the site is being sold.
If anyone is paying you 10 grand they are dumber than both of you (since even though the idiot doesn't know it, it is a parked site) and if you don't take the cash without any question you should be the ones blowing your brains out. Why you even asked this question and posted this thread and then try to question the responses is way beyond me :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh |

I'm just trying to open up some minds to other ways of thinking. 10k for a domain is NOT ALWAYS a scam, lol. I have a domain I wouldnt sell for under 1 million, and I dont even care what someone on a board thinks, it's just what I think it could be worth to the right buyer and I'm not even selling, lmao. Not that it applies to this situation necessarily, but I think sometimes people just say it is a scam without any possibility that it could be true, and often times it can be and IS true. |
Should I take ten grand for a parked domain? Don't know, let me get some advice.

i was in the custom apparel bidness previously to becoming a porner, used to sell bespoked suits for $4000-$6000 each. i had clients that would fly in on the private jets and drop $80 grand on clothing.

Lets bow our heads to this genius, no need to innovate and invest in new business ideas that are apart of virtually untapped billion dollar industries. Lets just run TGPs and make $100 month and talk like we know everything. :) Quote:

adword textiles? I want a suit made of that!

Stop arguing with each other for a second and consider this:
Someone comes up with a novel/useful idea that is somehow relqted to tailor services, his market gap analysis confirms that there is indeed a need for his idea, puts together a solid business plan and pitches it to VC's. He gets funding, op's domain seems to reflect his idea/service (whatever that may be, perhaps a solution to something that's currently missing or could be improved in how everyday people use/interact with/find,etc tailors). On top of this he knows YouTube is one of the best known brands online so the domain should also be easy to brand. 10k might be a very small portion of his funding. My point being there's life beyond tubes, tgps and adwords. If the idea pulls x mil the first year, was the buyer still 'an idiot'? A bad negotiator maybe. Look at the big picture. |
Congrats, great deal for buyer/seller. I love tailored shirts. Youtailor.net doesn't took too bad either.

i guess my point is, while i don't know the domain business, i do know any one of the uber high-end clothiers can easily drop $10 grand on a domain. |
But still... Should I sell this site for ONLY ten grand :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh? I just don't know. Let me ask someone, and then speculate. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh
