Awesome Jact...i dunno....i drove both several times....the challenger just felt more "GUY" than the camaro did....might just be me being a mopar guy....plus i am "old school" and the challenger stuck more to a traditional muscle feel

I got into the SS and I felt like I was in a space ship. I like my driver area to be neat, clutter free and not look like a Christmas tree all light up. Please tell me you got the track pack? These cars are such a waste with the automatic!

Totally agree with you there. The bodylines on the Chally are so much more of a throwback to the old look and feel of the Challenger, moreso I think than any of the other new and updated versions of old muscle have.

I did think about that actually.....i also thought about a few other old muscle cars in the same price range....but...i want new technology....better brakes...better handling..etc....and i do believe the original challenger was lacking in the HP dept at the tires....

Get yourself a DiabloSport Predator. If you don't do any other upgrades to it, the tune is a must. It'll wake the car up hugely. They run around $400 and you can reset the factory tune for when you take it to the dealership for service.

The <1971 Challenger had the engine, the >1971 Challenger had the styling but lacked the engine. I'm thinking about getting a 72-74 and putting a crate in 'er and making it my drag car.

black yes, flat black no. i tried it on my wheels and had to change it, looks ghetto on a nice car. like it was rattle canned and the flat black isn't a smooth finish so brake dust will get caught in it over time and it's a bitch to clean off.

i've powder coated a SHIT load of things on my motorcycles and cars. The flat black looks good on some parts but will not look good with a car like that.

when you get to the coater, you will find they will have many different variations on black.

i would suggest a satin black, not flat and not glossy.

when it comes down to 10ths of a second in performance, it's everything else that determines the purchase.

so your comment is moot.

I think they fully did the Challenger right. Stayed more true

Wasn't even a choice for me... picked up my SS last week. I loaded mine up, though... wheels, ground effects (which are getting painted soon), sunroof, RS package...

Ordered a Borla exhaust which should be here this week. May do a few more minor mods, but nothing too extreme...

While the Camero has it's nice points, I am afraid I disagree. Just make sure to check your Battery cable ;)
