I've tried, but I can't ever get them all to smile at the same time. :)

The thing I really like about the Cayenne is how much it feels like a car to drive. The last SUV I had was a Benz ML-350 and that was more like driving a truck.

slapass 10-04-2009 05:52 AM

Not my photo but same car. I thought about trying to get something else last year during the crisis. pick up something nicer on the cheap. But I had a nightmare that I sold this baby so I said screw it and kept her.

Still trying to decide about the ground effects... Chevy sends them all the same gray color. Don't know if I want to paint them black or matching yellow.

Raf1 10-04-2009 07:24 AM

it's not fair. Cars a just so cheap in the USA :)

Nice rides BTW.

I'm sure one of these Photoshop experts could make that happen.

Well Hubby has his Chally, and he loves it, I have my family car, which I also love. It's a Crossover that drives like a car, has a hell of a lot of kick, and huge fun factor, especially when we get up north on the back roads. 2009 Dodge Journey SXT Fully loaded.

I absolutely love it! It can seat up to 7, it's got more storage in it than you could imagine, hidey holes everywhere, it's got quite a bit of balls no problems passing anyone, and it's a nice looking vehicle imo. Totally fun...and of course I have it accented with my fuzzy black dice on the rearview lol!!

I LOVE Subarus! Rallies are awesome and if I was gonna build a rally car, it would be a Subbie :) SO awesome :)

subies are alright, but i'll stick with my mitsu. :]

truth be told i am glad i drive the evo first, it would have made for one hell of a hard choice had i test driven both of them but after getting a taste of how hard nosed and razor sharp the evo is i knew i had to have it.

I screwed around with photoshop and yellow looks good on the effects. Maybe with some subtle black detail or striping.

calmlikeabomb 10-04-2009 10:11 AM

@smack, sweet evo. I'm gonna pick up one eventually to keep the Subaru company. Both are great cars. I have lots of friends with one or the other. I don't think I'd ever buy another non-awd car after driving these machines. They grip the road like nothing else and can give some exotics a run for their money < 160mph.

ps- is it an IX MR?

I think the Lotus is the best handling car I've ever driven. Not the easiest car to get in and out of.

Yep... bone stock. It has the optional 21" wheels ($4800) and ground effects ($2300) though. Also have the sunroof and RS package. Of course it's the 426 HP 6.2L V-8, and it's a 6-speed manual.

Ordered a Borla exhaust on Friday... should be here next week.

That's for sure.
The top comes up to my lower ribs so you really get down into it.
Takes some practice to get in and out smoothly.

Makes for some great upskirts when the ladies get in and out :thumbsup

I took the top off and that makes it easier and more fun!

yeah it's a IX MR with the SE wheels/lip/and zero lift kit.

i haven't gotten to drive an STi yet, but have driven a couple wrx's in various stages of modification. my only real complaint being the steering ratio, but that's minor. i would love to get a rwd car again in addition to the awd because honestly the caveman in me misses being able to do burnouts. :1orglaugh

as far as drive-ability goes though the awd is incredible. the level of grip i have with a few minor suspension mods and the dunlop star spec z1s (255/40) is just wild, and when then car does let go it is rather graceful and controllable.

i've actually been considering getting an 08 STi as a daily driver and just going balls out and stripping the evo to the metal and caging it for hillclimbing. i just need to get together the money for the STi, and then the other $30,000 to prep the evo in the way i want it. at this point a crippling drug addiction would probably be cheaper than my love of fiddling with my car.

it's a blast. when i got my first evo i was all about making it one of those showy cars with a big stereo and one of my friends told me that before i went that route i should try autocross. i did it once and was hooked. then that led to the SCCA time trial events which are amazing. there's nothing quite as exhilarating as coming down a straight away at 130, mashing the brakes only to find they've been toasted and faded away, then cocking the wheel and hoping for the best. :1orglaugh

hopefully next year i can complete my plan to gut the car, cage it, get some ohlin coilovers, and roll the fenders to accommodate a 285/35/18 hoosier so i can get in to hill climbing. i have been holding off because the safety gear entailed in it is fairly expensive, and i don't want to risk shoving a car through a guard rail and over a hill that is my daily driver.
