ahh memories. who knows if they're real or made up


for legal reasons this is all made up bullhshit

so the manager and head of security I hired wasn't a big guy. Actually one of the nicest guys I've ever met - christian and just loved the bar business. Ex boxer - never went pro. Never lost a fight either in his amateur career. Lots of guys say that, you had to meet this guy. He was about 5'10, boxer's nose and ears and built like Arnold when he was the terminator but NEVER showed it - always wore black long sleve shirts and played it down. But unreal confidence in pressure situations like no one else i've ever met.

To give you an idea of his skills, many moons ago there was a professional boxer from Winnipeg called Donny Lelond (the golden boy) - anyway he had a title match with Mike tyson and Tyson won... Interesting thing is a couple months previous Preacher (my manager) had an unscheduled match with him and knocked him out FASTER than Tyson did. It ended preacher's career - he couldn't get another fight after that and he didn't want to go pro...

So it's a bar - sometimes gangs come in. We had native gang guys on fridays often come (they as an ethnic demographic outdrink any other ethinc group I've sceen in the world cept for Icelanders) If they're not wearing colors how the fuck you supposed to know? And my take is if wallmart can sell em food I can sell em beer. So anyway a fight breaks out in the back. Couple new guys. Usually easy to break up and security is on it but it's gang related so many people get involved. I'm watching providing backup (i didn't get first hands on for many reasons) and suddenly a guy starts to pull a strap out of his pants. Preacher grabs it and I see what looks like the guys finger break as he takes it out of his hand - this is in a lightning second. Now Preacher has his strap which means he's basically punked a gang member. The guy demands his strap back and Preacher says come back tomorrow and he'll give it to him, no way to you give a strap to an angry guy LOL - anyway the guy demands it back and Preacher knowing he now has the power moves everyone to the front doors. The new gang guy and like 4-5 of his friends surround Preacher at the front and DEMAND the strap back. Preacher got this look in his eye I hadn't sceen before. He has a rule - he WILL NOT hit someone till they hit him first and having taken a strap off this guy I could tell he was ITCHING to get hit. The guys make fake punches at him and try everything to scare him - 4-5 guys (i stand near his back - they don't know who I am and I figure if someone clubs him from behind I can stop it long enough for Preacher to deal with it) - anyway they keep taunting him but unbelievably they don't have the guts to hit him. It was funny as I could tell he wanted them to hit him more than anything in the world and he positioned himself in front of 4 cameras just for that purpose. Nope. after 20 mins they left. One of the head gang guys tells me they NEED the strap back and I tell him no problem - but not tonight. He's ok with that and comes back for it the next day (we disabled it permentally but gave it back)

anyway I closed the bar very soon after that for many reasons but i heard the guy that brought the strap in was beaten by his gang many times for disrespecting the place as they thought that was the reason i closed it down. They were native and we were VERY good to them - always showed them respect and treated them well and there had no where else like that in the city so when it closed down that guy got a LOT of VERY VERY scarry dangerous people VERY pissed off . I actually liked many of those guys and miss them.

anyway i'm rambling....... just waiting for an upload... ok it's done - back to work....
