Apple another fuck you.

I was fairly relaxed, was barely even paying attention to the TV which was at a decent volume for the show at hand. Then WHAM fucking ear popping music for its lame ass new ipod. Had to find the remote asap and hit FF.

Go ahead and say it got you talking about it, it did its job. Um no. I only am bringing it up here because I am sick of serious topics and it pissed me off. I have no idea whats new about the new ipod. I know nobody here is getting a new one. They just have no fucking need to pull this fucking crap.

Really sucks because one of the meds I am on right now makes me sensitive to loud noises. It actually is very painful and causes migraines. I swear if I get another one cause of this and end up at the ER for a shot I think I may send them the fucking bill.

I do have one of those volume things you buy, apparently I need to upgrade or something. I really should not even have to buy one in my mind though.

You apparently do not get the point now do you.

The tv was already at a very exceptable volume level. Most everyone produces stuff at the same volume levels. Some people can and do jack up the volume when they are doing the shit so it about doubles or triples what your preset volume already was at and when the commercial is over the sound returns to normal.

So unless your suggestion is to watch on mute with the text, or turn it down so that you can not hear a show incase someone does this, it does not apply.

I have no idea what you are talking about...

you must have cable... oh... that makes sense now.

log into your tv settings, put tv volume at 50 %, then adjust volume on your cable setting... wham... problem fixed

I have not had others that have bypassed it yet. Plus as I said why should anyone have to buy another electrical device because of an asshole company.

My TV volume is 0 btw. I do not need a TV volume because I have surround sound. Cable settings are already correct. Volume stabilizer is in place. Volume control is now based out of my audio box. To make you happy it is set at 32. Which makes all shows and commercials at a reasonable level for a small room. Setting it to under 30 makes it hard to hear most talking.

they are set fine.
You are also not on a medication that makes you sensitive to loud noises.
I also suppose of course it is on my end that everything else plays just fine then this new commercial comes on and not only was it fucking loud it rattled my windows. Next commercial was back to normal sound levels.
Also guess they are trying to pass a law to prevent such actions, yet it really is just the users faults.

I just assumed that you had a shitty one. If you have a strong DTS or Dolby signal, most won't filter that, most just filter normal stereo 2.0.

Maybe I will open it up and make sure a fuse is not blown or something.

the low what, oh if you mean from the morphine all that typically does is make me a little drowsy, like if someone took 2 benadryl and keep in mind I also have extended release morphine already in me along with some diazepam, norco, and baclofen.

I think that is everything that may cause drowsiness.

seriously, its annoying. Its not the company as it is the ad agency and the stations selling the ad space that allows this. I have a setting on my receiver which is always on to try and prevent this, but imo 100% bullshit.

ACTUALLY.... you guys have it all wrong.

Today's Home Audio Threatres has a pretty wide dynamic range (expressed in decibels). Usually, TV stations set all of their movies, TV shows and commercials to play all at the same level. (And sometimes they try to "force" everything into a certain range which sucks but thats for another post).

Anyway what usually happens is that some noob at the station has the levels for the TV show set too low, and the levels for commercials set too high. So you, the comfy at-home viewer have your volume control higher than it should be when watching a show, and then BLAM! A super-loud commercial comes on, making your popcorn fly.

Commercials are not engineered to be louder than they should be. Any audio engineer knows that trying to do so only creates distortion. Sound people are artists too, and they care about the quality and range of their work.

So the next time a commercial comes on thats too loud, don't bitch at Apple - call the TV channel you're watching instead - they're the ones who can actually do something about it.

Audio Compressors are EVIL and a useless piece of junk..!

Sound, especially in movies, is UNCOMPRESSED. I am not talking about Digital compression, I'm talking about Compression of the Dynamic Range, (the difference between dead-quiet and ear-popping explosions).

In movie theatres, there's no compression. This lets the quietest of moments be quiet. The pin drop, the water drops, the whispers that make you learn forward. QUIET is an expression of sound. Without this, Explosions, screams, chainsaws, would not seem as loud. Michael Bay would be limp.

Here's another example. FM Radio, at least hear in Montreal, Sucks monkey balls. Try listening to Pink Floyd or Led Zeplin on CHOM FM (sucks), then listen to it on CD at home or even on your ipod. The accoustic guitars, the soft voices etc, are low as they should be. The Electric Guitar and Banging drums are LOUD as they should be.

But on FM radio (especially sucky-assed Chom FM in Montreal, they are ALL at the same level, or decibels. Compressors raise the low-level sounds up, and reduce the high-level sounds down, until everything is at one, boring level of volume. BLEAH!

So kids, don't compress. Enjoy the music and sound fx as the artists intended you to.

OK yes they missed one commercial. Everything else is fine.

I already damn well knew that some ad agencies and commercial makers adjust the audio when making their commercials to possibly get your attention if you are in another room. I have seen the news stories, they have covered it on 20/20, blah blah.

Apple is taking my flack, they are the root of nearly all evil, yes even more evil than MS. Only difference between Mr Jobs and Kim jong ill is a little height and jobs wears black. Well odds are north korea will also continue on longer than apple after their leaders die.
