only thing illegal on my computer is my copy of Windows XP, because no one should have to pay that for that piece of shit.

I can admit the only time I may be guilty of digital theft is when I occasionally watch a youtube video and they have some music playing or I am not 100% sure they own the material.
Of course I do not consider acts of parody theft, which it is not. I also would not feel it is theft if I watch say the original night of the living dead online, since I have a purchased version in my video collection. I also know I can watch all the southpark online I want, because the creators have given permission many times over. Though I rarely watch it and can not think of the last time I watched any online. Oh wait once I did rewatch the last 5 minutes or so because my cable cut out. I did this with heroes once too when my cable cut out and I do pay for cable.

No downloading songs unless the wife is doing it from itunes or if she is after classical stuff and no I am not talking classic rock. Software wise I own everything on my machines unless it is shareware or freeware. Typically I will send in some money for both if it is any good and I use it often.

There is NO argument to the above post.

.

sure there is
it depends on what the video is, and did you pay for it

if for example you download a tv show that you could have watched on tv station you subscribed to, then you are using the torrents like a vcr and that is just as legitimate

if you are downloading something you have never paid for, then it wrong.

likewise if you making a parody of a video, changing the audio or the subtitles and uploading that perfectly legitimate

if you are taking it content and simple uploading it with no changes whatsoever that is wrong

safe harbor is designed to make sure that the former is not censored/eliminated when the copyright holders go after the latter.
