    Credit Card Processing & Merchant Accounts

    I need some advice on billing customers by credit card.

    First, although I create adult websites/TGP's, I also have some side business's that are completely mainstream.

    I understand I need a payment gateway (such as Authorize.net), and a merchant account in order to be able to accept a credit card, and bill the customer.

    My problem is that I live in Canada. Canadian banks want quite a large ($50K) deposit for me to be a merchant doing business over the internet.

    Other companies (insta merchants, authorize.net, etc) require that I am a US citizen, which I am not.

    I am not interested in paypal at this time.

    Can anyone (especially a fellow Canadian who has already figured this out) point me to a simple, fast, and less expensive way to get a merchant account/payment gateway?

                                                          So far in Canada I found that only Moneris is specialized in online transaction. You should contact them, have few friends who do online business and even penny auction and they didnt asked them a 50k deposit....

                                                                  50k is not the norm really but they do make you cross several hoops, it is really very painful. I would actually prefer a deposit to all that crap.
