U.S. representative Steve King (pictured) of Iowa said that same-sex marriage is a ?purely socialist concept? during an interview with a conservative radio network on Wednesday.

King, a Republican who represents the 5th congressional district, spoke with Greg Corumbus of Radio America for World Net Daily about his concern that congressional Democrats and the Obama administration are ?pushing closer and closer? to repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act.

Unsatisfied with comparing the prospect of same-sex marriage to the legalization of incest, as opponents such as former senator Rick Santorum have done, King said he wanted to ?take this along the rationale even further.?

?If relationships between individuals cannot be prohibited by the state legislature, then there?s no ban that can actually be constitutional that would ban group marriage, and it wouldn?t have to be for reasons of, let me say, love or lust, it could be reasons of profitability or avoiding taxes or accessing benefits,? King said.

?So in the end, this is something that has to come with a, if there?s a push for a socialist society, a society where the foundations of individual rights and liberties are undermined and everybody is thrown together living collectively off one pot of resources earned by everyone; this is one of the goals they have to go through is same-sex marriage because it has to plow through marriage in order to get to their goal,? he said.

?Not only is it a radical social idea, it is a purely socialist concept in the final analysis,? King said.

Gay marriage is not a purely socialist concept. Plenty of gay people want to get married and have no agenda whatsoever other than that they love each other. Plenty of libertarians support gay marriage on the quite reasonable grounds that people should be able to have a relationship or legal contract with whomever the fuck they want (pretty good logic I must say).

Having said that it is true that breaking down the traditional family unit and traditional family roles is an important component of Leninist/Maoist style Marxism. There are no doubt plenty of hard left Marxists who support gay marriage for expressly that reason but I would guess the majority of people support it for the other more obvious reasons.

And yes I know the nick Glenn Beck is a troll so I am not responding to the OP but rather the topic.

The one thing I've never gotten is how otherwise seemingly intelligent people just don't grasp this reality.

I can't tell tales outside of school, but due to my location, I've befriended a few politicians over the years. What they say and do in public and what they actually do in private do not reconcile.

I'll argue about politics until I am blue in the face because it's fun ... but at the end of the day I know that what I think and even how I vote means nothing.

Still, I do both ... because the definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over while expecting a different result.

First of all, "Marriage" is an invention of mankind... it holds no value in the natural cycle of life. People did not evolve to this point be getting "married" and having kids after the did this special ceremony that is pure aesthetics.

I have nothing against gay marriage, but gay people should just realize that they can't have the same social advantages as a regular married couple. Because the regular couple has only those advantages for one reason, they "produce" kids, even if that sounds stupid, for for the government that only means they get more future tax payers.
