    Joe Francis has just dodged a bullet by pleading guilty to filing false tax returns


    Francis struck a deal with federal prosecutors in L.A. and will avoid jail time. He'll plead guilty to two counts of filing bogus returns.

    Francis could have faced 10 years in prison. Instead, he'll pay $250,000 in restitution and get credit for time service -- 301 days in jail.

                          Actually i think Joe was hit harder than most for the tax evasion, but the guy has other problems so i doubt he can stay out for long..

                                                      I'm now lawyer but I would guess that's just the penalty for doing it. He'll probably have to file real tax returns now and pay late penalties and interest on what he actually owes.

                                                                                  Then there is the lawsuit brought by previous lawyers, and I believe there is still yet another case involving minors pending against the convicted sex offenderl, which will likely add to his already extensive criminal rap sheet.
