Some companies have been using products like Verisign or McAfeeSecure. Well, I absolutely do know of such programs, and you already snagged the one I'd of been recommending right off the bat! But word of mouth hasn't proved profitable to me in the past, where as a hard link seems to at least ensure I get credit.

ps: I run webmaster resource sites, and I post a lot of recommendations to GWW where I moderate, and a link would be much easier for me to work with.

website secure is awesome, i noticed an increase in sales almost instantly and submit ratios have remained higher since adding it on my sites. I recommend it for all of my SEO clients. It's a product that was long overdue and its great to see Stewart has implemented it the right way from top to bottom

It is actually not a traffic leak for several reasons.

1) WebsiteSecure.org does not use link codes of any kind and does not interfere with cookies in any way. So if an affiliate sends traffic to a site and the user checks the certificate (or even if they verify the certificate on websitesecure.org) when they return to buy the site the original affiliate still gets full credit for the sale.

2) Most traffic sees the seal on the join page and signs up or does not. A small fraction of users click the seal to see the certificate (which does not cause them to leave the join page in any way. Doing so does not interfere with affiliate credit for sales in any way.

In reality, the increase in ratios that WebsiteSecure.org brings to a join page will result in more sales for affiliate traffic (all credited correctly to the affiliate), less concern that your traffic and bookmarkers are being burned by a particular paysite, and the chance of losing even ONE sale because of websitesecure.org is pretty much zero.
