8.50 Euro for a liter of beer is not that bad at all. That is about $13 CAD. If you go to any decent bar in Toronto that serves good beer you will be paying about $7 per beer. Since a litre is a little over a pint and a half (20 oz. = Pint 33 oz. = Litre) you are only paying a bit more per beer. The entire event is absolutely amazing and while I agree it might be a BIT pricey it is every bit worth it. You can always go there grab a couple of beers before hand and then drink less in the tents.

We were planning to go this year... had to change the plans.... well, it is still not too late - octoberfest lasts for a couple of more weeks, so MUCH beer and sausages left for me if I go next week :D
