You cannot eat in front of Muslims at work, you must change..., but what about Hindu's, Christians, other religions etc etc, will there be a change for them also to make this fair?

I think that working in a Muslim nation is a bit different than Muslims in your home country (secular, for the most part) requesting that you don't eat by them.Vacares - Web Hosting, Domains, O365, Security & More - Paxum and BTC Accepted

did anyone read this part?
so eat up, do not be ignorant. But the Muslim Public Affairs Committee, which claims to be fighting a ‘political jihad against Islamophobia’, attacked the document.
It said: “It is designed to create more hatred in the hearts of non-Muslims. We don’t care how much non-Muslims eat in front of us.
“It’s never been an issue and never will be and we have never asked for any special treatment or sensitivity from non-Muslims whilst fasting.”

Did anyone read the first line? It says "Don't eat in front of Muslims during Ramadan". And then right below it says "please be sensitive when eating lunch near a Muslim colleague who is fasting".
This has nothing to do with human rights. It's just saying "be sensitive". If you take out the words Muslim and Ramadan, the person you're eating in front of could be anyone who is fasting, or even on a strict diet. It's the same thing as smoking in front of someone who is trying to quit.Comment

Except that eating is a necessity to live in smoking is not.Did anyone read the first line? It says "Don't eat in front of Muslims during Ramadan". And then right below it says "please be sensitive when eating lunch near a Muslim colleague who is fasting".

This is like asking a meat eater to stop eating meat just because the person sitting next to them is vegetarian. Or it's like asking a vegetarian to eat meat because they are eating dinner with a meat eater.
Demanding that another party "respect" or be "sensitive" to your food *choices* is over the top.
I am a human being. I need to eat. If you need to fast, that's totally fine... but don't get upset when I'm eating. Simply go to the other room.Vacares - Web Hosting, Domains, O365, Security & More - Paxum and BTC Accepted

i think its time to take a stand against these silly religious rules by starting the biggest religion ever that takes on these rules. 1st rule is all people who don't belong to our religion must wear giant purple dildo's on their head with neon signs that say " i am a fucktard" otherwise you will be offending our god.hatisblack at yahoo.comComment

Exactly. If you come across a situation where you have food in a non-eating establishment and you think a guy might be muslim AND possibly offended, then ask the dude.
"Hey man, I know it's Ramadan, cool if I eat this here?"
Obviously you're not going to get verbally attacked at McDonald's for eating in front of a Muslim. It's kinda rude to just be eating in general public in front of people anyway.

My question is why would anyone who is fasting want to be sitting anywhere near where others are eating? If you want to fast and can't handle others who aren't, then maybe it's time to start taking your breaks away from the company lunch room?Did anyone read the first line? It says "Don't eat in front of Muslims during Ramadan". And then right below it says "please be sensitive when eating lunch near a Muslim colleague who is fasting".

Same with smoking. If you're trying to quit then hanging around where others are smoking is probably the dumbest thing to do, unless one enjoys driving themself crazy.Promote Wildmatch, ImLive, Sexier.com, and more!!

I think that education part of all this is correct - so for example companies letting staff know that Muslims are on fast because of Ramadan, but asking people not to eat because of others may be going to far.
It goes to far becuase some people are vegetarians becuase of religion reasons and that would mean that people should not eat meet infront of them... so this special treatment for Muslims is incorrect unless all other religions are also catered for.Last edited by Badmaash; 09-20-2009, 02:11 PM.best cbd oil uk - Hit me up on ICQ 400607632Comment

That's right we must be "understanding" & "accepting" of a culture that does not believe in "acceptance" or "understanding"

I love how even though it has been quoted at least twice, it still goes ignored. It actually is doing what they were concerned about as well. Must really suck being on the Muslim Public Affairs Committee. They are just fucked.Comment
