The best current bands right now are the garage blues-rock bands like the White Stripes, The Black Keys, The Muggs, the Redwalls, Eric Lindell, The Raconteurs, Thee Shams, etc...

I thought the same thing when I first heard them; I guess they're an acquired taste. Some tunes do sound very WEIRD though. I like their cover of death letter:

Yeah, was just kidding. I do like a few of their numbers, but 98% of it is crap.
I'm not a fan of any specific bands. I like a lot of different stuff, both classic and trance. I do listen to a lot of Korn, Rob Zombie, Metallica and Pain. But I cant say there is one band where I like more than 50% of their tracks, but the only one that come close is the swedish band Pain. Their two albums rockedComment

Like I say, I never listened to Staind in my own time, A ways back my brother had an extra ticket, to of all bands Nickelcrap, and they were the opening act. I wasn't doing shit, and a lot of people from town were going up to party in the city so I said fuck it and went along, the ticket wasn't costing me anything anyways.
I still have to say I was pretty impressed by Staind as a live band. I'll give them credit for that, they are great live. After that show I don't think I ever listened to them again though.
