Are Tube Sites Really Worth The Effort?

Just by accident I was browsing an adult website that
had a link for tube scripts, so I took a look.

Tubes seem almost too good to be true. Reasonable cost.
The use of other people's content and bandwidth.

Anyone can do it.

Yeah, right.

I'm skeptical.

What's the real deal?

Where's the money in tubes? Sponsors? Traffic? Or just
as a good link {PR rating} to your other sites?

I'm not looking for industry secrets. Just an overview
from those more experienced in the adult biz than myself.

Tubes are worth it only if you put forth the effort yourself. All those sites out there that are made with 500000 sponsor-imported videos in 3 minutes are worthless and will never see any real return imho.

SE's love tubes, but you have to love them back with good unique text on each and every video.

There are a lot of surfers getting into the game these days and many of them are throwing their money away.

If you want a real tube you need to buy a good script, Buy full DVD rights and set it up with full movies. I wouldn't want to spend that kind of money just to give away free porn.

because it's the new and cool thing to do, if I had to guess 98% or so of tube sites don't actually make any reasonable income for the amount of time and work involved in building and maintaining them
