Everything is being remade, whether it should be or not, And I can tell how the pitch meetings go:
For remaking a drama: "Hey, we should remake (fill in the blank) and make it like Twilight!"
For remaking a musical: "Hey, we should remake (fill in the blank) and make it like High School Musical!"
For remaking a comedy: "Hey, we should remake (fill in the blank) and make it like Superbad!"
For remaking a quirky movie: "Hey, we should remake (fill in the blank) and make it like Juno!"
Then there'll be the maverick with the fresh idea: "Hey, we should remake (fill in the blank), update it for today's world and put in a younger cast."

Remaking some classics just makes sense. Gets a new generation hooked into a film that did well the first time. However it must be relevant to work.
Oh and yeah I knew of the fame movie. The wife likes watching lifetime and bravo, plus I watch top chef which is on bravo too. Those two networks must get a fame commercial every other commercial break for the last month or two.Comment
