I spent a lot of time in foster homes and I was molested in a foster home. My Father died when I was young and my mother was an alcoholic. She was beaten and raped buy my step-dad, and when she finally got away from him (he was in a car accident and got abnesia) she had to raise 3 boys on her own. Me being the oldest. I am glad that my brothers didn't go through what I did. Though they are alcoholics now and I am not. Go figure.

Foster care isn't always what it is cracked up to be. Just like renters... some are good, many are bad.

D Ghost 09-17-2009 11:35 PM

that is just ridiculous

I rented out a $900,000 home (fully furnished) in Ohio for a few months and nothing of this nature EVER happened. Except one time a friend accidentally ripped the hand rail off the wall going down into the basement. I had it fixed within 1 week and notified the owner I was renting from. No problem.

Ouch.. rented it out to the wrong peeps.

i'm just saying keep it in perspective ... it could be worse.

good point. :2 cents:

I also lost personalty more in the bankruptcy than what I wrote off as well.... to keep that in perspective....

Rather than see their father use substances that just 60 years ago were in every headache medication available at the local Pharmacy?

Also widely used by Freud...who's "kids" & "students" ended up shaping today's modern medical society.

Just let it go....but insist they pay for any damages. And maybe just threaten to call protective services...but not do it.

we thought about this - and didnt' report it.

mostly cause we didn't see it personally. many people told us, but that's not good enough

So what if i fuck Capital One (or some other huge billion dollar company) out of a few dozen grand. They make up for it with the interest they charged me the whole time. (easily). I wouldn't lose a wink of sleep, or be ashamed at all honestly. :2 cents:

i don't see how much money a company has as a reason to fuck them over.

i didn't hide anything in my bankrupsy. I put it all on the table.

I was in a situation where I couldn't get out. So I followed the law and put everything on the table.

I've talked to many people who tell me about hiding money and such, I don't believe in that. Quite disgusted by it actually. That's not me. I'm about GETTING the stuff - not keeping it. Am I ashamed I declared Bankruptcy - yes. But I see it as a way to start over. Not a way to fuck people over.

On that note one person who threatened me many times really disgusted me as he felt he was owed before everyone else and not subject to the bankruptcy laws. Esp when I sacrificed the welfare of my family to make HIS payments he was 5 months late on. It really showed me his true colors esp when he kept going to many of my friends spreading lies about the situation and me. In the end the truth will set you free. I would have held to the bankruptcy laws on our agreement, but had he given two shits about me and not be concerned ONLY with himself I would surly if I am blessed to become successful again opened MANY doors for him. Every time he continues to slander me lowers the possibility of me sending opportunity to him in the future in other ways.

They are for sure the last people to call about kids when you hadn't seen type of neglect yourself.

I just re-read this and realized I totally fucked up a part of it.
Should read - After my car wreck the comic book business dropped out and I had a massive lease.

I had saw that Sleezy posted this quote in the start of another thread. No idea it started with a response to something I posted.

To me bankruptcy was a big deal and was pretty hard to do. I knew I would be fucking over some very good people all because 1 asshole company would not playball. Really had no other choice though. I was not ashamed of it though and I did my best to prevent it. If my auto insurance would not of delayed as much as it did and if my property company would of allowed me a payment plan to get back on track none of it would of happened.

I also see it two different ways. I am ok with those people that do their best, try to build up a business or something and end up filing. I however am not ok with those that live outside of their means, charging shit with no intention ever of paying it and using it as a lifestyle reset button every few years. While using every way possible of hiding assets.

50 bad renters :Oh crap

Yikes, sorry to hear about the nightmare, SD. I know my friend's family has a few properties and one family was just great until they moved out. Then they realized the family had given one of the bedrooms to two german shepherds, which had chewed holes in the drywall, ripped up the floor, pissed so much the baseboards and underlay was soaked, and the door had to be replaced. Sometimes you just never know until it's too late!

rowan 09-18-2009 09:33 PM

The property manager at our last place (before we built our first home) never once visited in the 10 months we were renting. She sent an email around halfway about organising an appointment for an inspection but I forgot about it, and apparently so did she.

Real estate agents hate rentals... I'm trying to figure out some issues with a place I want to lease but the agent is a flake, probably because it's so cheap (few thousand per annum) and his management percentage cut would be miniscule. I'm almost at the point where I'm going to contact the owner directly and tell them the agent is wasting my time, and blowing off owner income by stuffing around potential tenants. :2 cents:

Just saying...

true, if the kids arent abused, beaten, or given drugs, CPS is probably not the answer... A lot of horror stories there...

However, these stovetops can be extremely high maintenence. I clean mine on a regular basis and it is still black around the burners. You spill anything on it and it just melts to the stovetop. Gotta have a rag with you at all times.

I try keeping it clean while I cook, but my lazy, sloppy, girlfriend has no respect for nice things.

I am going to guess your cook top is black around the burners from washing it with dish soap. Am I right?

You are half right, it is black around the burners cause if you have a boil over or a spill, or even something on the bottom of the pan. (from moving the pan from a counter or table onto stove without checking for debris)

Like I said... she is a lazy, sloppy cook. If I felt like cooking every meal, I would.

I cook, I treat the stovetop like gold and I throw out all my packaging and mess as I go. She cooks, she is all over the place and leaves garbage everywhere. (even for days if I don't spot it and throw it away, empty pasta boxes and such.

Truth is, once the top gets dirty and black around the burners, people don't care. Of course, it is not their stove why should they. My GF moves out, I have to deal with that shit. I find myself scrubbing it al the time.

He can sue them for damages and lost rent. Worth doing if the guy had a good income.
