Does the wireless internet from the phone companies work while driving?

I'm planning on taking a trip in several weeks and need to make sure that I have constant access to the internet.
Does anyone know if the wireless internet cards from the cell phone companies work while driving (IE: in motion)?

As long as you have coverage you have access. I play on my g1 all of the time when we are driving. Plus it allowed me to get rid of our damn GPS system on craigslist.

Yup. Use my blackberry as a modem and drive with it. As long as your cell has coverage, you're good.

I have used both my aircard and blackberry. As long as you have coverage you are good to go.

Actually, I meant the addon cards for the laptops... do those still work while in motion?
I remember like 4 years ago with Verizon that wasn't the case.

The 3G to Edge is the only issue I've ever had. Other than that, smooth sailing... er, driving.
