When I'm working on a project, I go deep.
I dive in head first and immerse myself in whatever it's about. Many time that means listening to hours and hours of shit like Rhianna or Jay Sean to get the proper mood.
Sometimes I actually stuff a maxipad in my ass. (not really). (well, maybe). (no).
But I think that's sort of required.
As a designer, you should be vanilla. A blank canvas.
That type of shit music isn't my personal preference, but personal preferences have no place in getting the gig done. You gotta FEEL it. You gotta pull your dick out and sit in the surfer's chair. If that doesn't work, then smoke it up or booze it up. Get in the zone. Do what it takes to find that place. We all know when the lights come on and it's 'The Shit'. We all know that feeling of, "This muther fucker rocks!"
