2) Too many hicks and cowboys. 3) Texas likes George W Bush 4) Troy Aikmen 5) Mexicans (which I like more than cowboys) 6) No goth scene 7) Big hair is still in style. 8) Everything is bigger in Texas cliche (like your chicks) 9) Country music Did I miss anything? Why the fuck anyone would live in Texas is beyond me. I would have to dumb down and narrow my worldview too much to ever live in Texas. I would happily move to Canada before I moved to Texas. |

Actually, from what I understand... Dallas has a pretty big Goth scene. Batty Page is there, and some other "Net Goth Chix" are there. FYI. I've not been there yet however. Some hottie Latina babes here though. But, ya gotta learn how to Salsa Dance. LOL

I agree. All that riding horses and tight ass jeans. Jeans tighter than any club fag would ever wear. All that emphasis on machismo. It just fucking reaks of latent homosexuality. I do know there is a quantity of beast content being produced in Texas as well. Its like the Montana of the desert. |

Born and raised in Fort Worth.
There are plenty of Goths in Texas...a fad is a fad is a fad whether you live in Los Angeles...Colorado Springs (big fucking goth town in '92) or as Titmowse said Amarillo. I hate George Bush...I hate the fucking heat...Aikman was a good QB...I hate cowboys too...Mexicans I can live with especially their women and food ....I haven't seen big hair in awhile, but then I don't shop at Neiman Marcus...country music like all music has it's gems but is mostly filled with shit...and nothing more gay than a cowboy dancing to the crap...but there is plenty of rock and roll in Texas too.Growing up I hated the place with a passion, but as I got older I learned to appreciate what it had to offer. There is a lot of history and a rich heritage in Texas. Downtown Fort Worth at night is beautiful the way they have Sundance Square lit up. And there is culture outside of Western Art, in fact when the Barnes exhibit was making it's way around the world there were only 7 museums in the world allowed to exhibit one of the most impressive collections of impressionistic paintings and one of those was the Amon Carter museum in Fort Worth. I'm not going to say that Texas is somewhere I hope to die...LOL But I did learn to appreciate what it had to offer. I did love Michigan...I was amazed at how beautiful it was. When I was with Taco Bell they flew me up to Lansing. I was able to visit Charlotte, Kalamazoo, and Battlecreek...and the leaves were turning at the time...the place looked like one of those pictures on a puzzle box But alas I don't think I could handle the cold. |

I lived in Dallas for a while and still get back there pretty often to visit.
They do have something of a goth scene. Though I was never really involved with it, I had goth friends. Ft. Worth is the greatest for the arts. Gotta love the Kimball. |

New Orleans is full of goth girls.
More than anywhere else on the planet I think, its that dumb Anne Rice c-u-n-t-r-a-g. Goth in Austin? Oh my fucking god. I know people in Houston drive to New Orleans for some of the Goth Clubs there, 5 hour commute. There is NO REAL goth scene in Texas. Get real. I went to the Art Institute of Houston and Even UT for a short period for Student Loans and know tonas of bandsw from the areas. Biggest thing to come out of the goth scene there was 'Evil Mothers' And they used to drive from Satan Antonio to play the local clubs in New orleans. Ive driven all through Texas, and know hundreds of bands that have toured it. Muight as well skip the whole place. Ive drank in the oldest bar in Texas, gruene texas - I have worn straight black for a decade now, and I walked into the fucking Green Cafe and got nothing but looks. Ive never been hassled more times for looking 'rock' in my whole life. Fuck texas.

found it.
<img src=http://www.accd.edu/pac/history/rhines/StudentProjects/2001/Gruene/hall1.jpg border="1"> 'Gruene Hall was the starting place for George Strait, Lyle Lovett, and Jerry Jeff Walker. In their early years they would go out there to make weekly appearances. The stage has seen everyone from Willie Nelson, The Dixie Chicks, Garth Brooks, and Jerry Lee Lewis. The Hall even hosted baseball's greatest, Nolan Ryan's 50th birthday party. ' Im guessing my drunk friends and the bartender lied about it being one of the older bars in texas. Nonetheless, I drank there when I was 18. ;) http://www.accd.edu/pac/history/rhin...sttemplate.htm

Dude. You go into ANY hick bar anywhere in the country wearing all black and you're bound to get looks.
They were all probably just trying to figure out *why* somebody would wear all black in texas. Not exactly a seasonably cool outfit I imagine.
