    World's worst accent?

    German is a given as the worst scariest accent - so what accents are vying for the 2nd worst accents?

    Buffalo, NY/Chicago - you could have a PhD in astrophysics and still sound like a moron.

          I was once on a 3 days Mylex product training seminar, and the speaker in the sales-pitch segment, was a female salesperson that spoke that way.

          I cant remember a single word she said, I just remember wanting to strangle her.

                          I'd beg to differ with German being the worst--the accent I hate most is Ulster (Northern Ireland). It's very harsh. The southern Irish accent is much softer. Some South Africans (those who speak Afrikaans, I'd say) also have an ugly accent, IMHO, too.

                          BTW, American girls seemed to really like my London accent... that's why I haven't lost it even after almost 30 years in the US.

                              I believe New Jersey Italian has the above beat by a mile. Southern Indiana is also very bad on the "what????" scale, the only worse I can think of is backwoods Louisiana.

                                              Brits have great accents - from the sophisticated Oxford accent to Cockney. I love listening to video tutorials with British speakers, I pay more attention.

                                                                  British and French accents are nice. The Eastern European accents are comical, even before Borat. Spanish accents aren't bad, who doesn't like Speedy Gonzalez and Ricardo Montalban?

                                                                  Southern US accents are interesting.

                                                                                      not sure which is the worst, but any accent where they inexplicably completely leave out letters in the pronunciation of words is kind of lame


                                                                                      like when some pronounce the word "card" and make it sound like "cod"

                                                                                      or those that say "di-int" when they are trying to say "didn't"

At one of the shows in jamaica i met this girl from wisconsin. I couldnt understand a word she was saying. It sounded like canadian, while eating 5 pieces of bread.

                                                                                                                              I was told, (can't verify it's truth) but supposedly the midwest doesnt have an accent.

                                                                                                                                                                                              Dutch people speaking english, not terrible but funny as they always stress the wrong part of the sentence. Although my Dutch is probably terrible to them, hehe.

                                                                                                                                                                                              South African is horrible, but I love Australian.
