i have been reading about the double dip recession for a long time.. at this time, i dont know what to think..
it took me a long time to realize how complicated and unpredictable things are right now..
i still believe that everything points to a economic collapse, but only time will tell...Comment

Well, gee.. Eventually you hit either black or red.
But, yeah, it will happen - the only question is when. We're hurting like hell but we're still manufacturing unbacked money like we have since 1972. Nothing's changed except now the new taxes are 'going to be used to help the people'. So, yeah, nothing's changed.Comment

At this time I doubt it will be crashing any time soon.
What is the current bubble, and do you think it's about to bust?
May be a great time to start investing again!

The stock market doesn't reflect reality. Much of the activity is by a small group of traders, in particular, those of Goldman Sachs.
Keep in mind that some are trading with what essentually is "free" money from the U.S. government. Notice I didn't say "bailout" money, because the Fed, on its own, has disbursed about 2 Trillion, which far drawfs all the "bailout" money released so far. It's easy to drive up stock prices when one is using someone else's money to leverage investments with basically no downside risk.
Many folks speak of 1929 stock market crash, but the ultimate low in stocks came over 2 years later in 1932. Many feel the U.S. stock market is still way overvalued; think 400 S&P and 3,000 Dow. Anyone doubting that being possible need only look at what's happened to the Japanese stock market - it's still down over 60% from its high in 1989 (20 years ago!) and yet to recover.

I think the next crash will be the dollar, not the stock market, but the effect on the stock market will be similar to a crash regardless of how the stock market is doing since 9500 points aka dollars will be worth a lot less. If I had much money, I'd consider investing in other currencies as sad as that sounds. The federal reserve and govt is giving away too much money that isn't there.Want to crush it in mainstream with Facebook ads? Hit me up.Comment

Nope... I think people are still cautious right now... but greed will kick back in eventually and people don't want to miss the rally back up....
I think the market presents a once in a lifetime opportunity right now... especially in alternative energy post the copenhagen climate summit..I don't endorse a god damn thing......

It seems there are a group of people who are convinced that it will crash again and the worst is still to come and there are a group of people who are saying things are getting better and we are recovering. Chances are neither really know for sure.Comment

It will stay dipped till the end of 2009 most likely even after that.

Of course it will. WHEN is the real question you should be asking.
People are to greedy, they'll rape the market for everything it has and more. They will find the next big thing and beat it till it's dead...Comment

I must agree here to some extent. I?m much more concerned with the devaluing of the dollar than the stock market crashing in the near term. By no means are we out of a recession; I think the market has grown a bit too fast in the last couple months, however economic data and more importantly consumer confidence lead me to believe that it is highly unlikely for the stock market to crash again any time soon. We are currently in ?stabilization? mode and we should see a bounce in the back half of 2010.I think the next crash will be the dollar, not the stock market, but the effect on the stock market will be similar to a crash regardless of how the stock market is doing since 9500 points aka dollars will be worth a lot less. current bubble is goverment debt of most developed countries. once the bond holders find that out, they are going to dump bonds and crash entire market, including stocks.
the small bubble is in equities now, since they are already valued like there was no recession at all and predicting very strong recovery in 2010.Comment
