				Going to Napa tomorrow...any recommendations?
I'm heading over for a Napa day-trip tomorrow. Does anyone have any rec's for wineries I should visit? Hopefully somewhere that makes great reds and won't be overrun with tourists. |

				 | for reds you must try Duckhorn & Silver Oak. Rubicon is good too on the medium end. i like sterling but it is more tourist-ish. eat at Ristorante Travigne http://www.travignerestaurant.com/ there is a small spot by duckhorn called dutch henry which is fantastic btw!! great olive oil and reds

				 | Go to V. Sattuii Winey in St. Helena, awesome place. Eat at Hurley's in Yountville on your way north, or visit Rutherford Grill on your way to V. Sattuii. Check out their new castle winery! I go to Napa 3-4 per year!

I was married at this winery This place is a one stop shop, your wine tastings are great and still free last I remember. Most places charge now!

				 | Clos Pegase is one of my favorite wineries to visit. The tours are fun and informative, and the winery includes a world-class art collection. Others I enjoy are Stags' Leap, Ferrari-Carano (actually in Healdsburg), Silver Oak (great Cabernet), andZD (excellent Chadonnay). There are many other fine wineries (too many for one trip), so pick a handful and have fun. Since it is a few hour drive from where I live, I like to stay overnight at the unique Bed and Breakfast establishments. Rubicon (formerly Niebaum-Coppola) is fun to visit because it includes a museum of props from Francis Ford Coppola movies. If you enjoy cooking, the Culinary Institute of America is delicious. Finally, Opus One is outstanding, but rather pricey even for tasting. As for dining, the Auberge du Soleil is less expensive for lunch and the view from the top of the hill is quite nice. For fine dining in the evening, Cole's Chop House is great if you love steak, however, if you want some excellent choices from an eclectic menu, then I recommend Terra in St Helena (my favorite restaurant in the Napa Valley region). Have a fun trip... ADG |

				 | I was going to say "be sure to visit COPIA" but they closed I've attended serious wine tastings there; the center of California's wine industry, its closing is a sad testament to changing times... |
