I am in the same boat as PR_Dave on a new site I am working on, being a new site the big issue with the affiliates for some reason think if its not Nats then shaving is involved.

This is usually only the case with clueless newbies who only cause headaches and never send a sale. Custom is always better than pre-packaged - unless you outsourced.

NATS4, cos it's far far more adapted to uncontrolled growth - NATS3 was such a grind having to constantly hack it.

--edit and any affiliate programme switch doesn't mean affiliate links need change... just a custom code to send the surfer to the correct URL with correct new natscode is all that's required.

Like many have said, if it aint broken....

However, I feel there are "behind the scenes" reasons for wanting to change. Want feature XYZ that isn't in your script that is in NATS? Affiliate confort in NATS? there's got to be a real reason to invest the time, money and energy in a switchover like this and coming onto GFY for a poll of some 50 webmasters that posted here does not a decision make.

So, come clean with the webmasters as to why you've been considering a switch to NATS and maybe the masses will reply.

Unless you only have 50 webmasters ;)

i would say stick and build upon your custom setup - you cannot beat a custom affiliate backend - the reports are endless - nats would just restrict you
