I hate them, will never bank with them ever again.
I bank with regions, haven't had a problem in many years. You may want to check out Acheiva, I hear they are pretty decent as well.

about 6 weeks ago, i deposited 1500.00 into a business partners bank account at BofA and they put it down as an atm withdrawall and DEBITED 1500.00 from his account.
30 days later, i deposited $2000.00 or something and it just evaporated - took 3 days of arguing with them for them to find the fuck up... turns out that somehow they applied it to a loan that he had with BofA, rather than just deposit it to his account.Comment

My BOA issues... on 1/7 I paid online a small credit card that I have with them. The payment was $100. I then transferred $450 from saving into my checking account, I never leave much in the checking account. I did that online as well. BUT... instead of transferring it to my checking account I transferred it to my credit card too! OOPS!!! I called them immediately and told them what I did and asked how to reverse it. I was told after it posted to call back and it would all be corrected in 24-48 hrs. So, I called on 1/9 and was told they saw what I was talking about, but it would be 3-5 business days. Ok... I can deal with that.
So last week, on 1/14 I called again. I couldn't see anything happening online and I wanted to check on this. I was told it was happening, but it is 8-10 business days! WTF Each time I called it was going to happen... in a longer period of time and it had to go back into my saving account , where it came from initially.
Each time I called I said" I want to check on the refund of the $450 transferred to my credit card in error".
So on 1/19 they credited my CHECKING ACCOUNT with $100! Not the $450 we had been discussing all along and not back into my Saving account where they said it HAD to go back to.
I blew a gasket! I called BOA and got a supervisor and really let her have it.
I am now afraid to have them move anything else... but she did credit my credit card account for 6 months of interest and finance charges. A whopping $150.00.
These people are incompetent.
Now this isn't $900K or even $1k... but if they can mess up $450... I don't trust them with anything any larger.

A guy I'm partnered with on a site had someone do some check fraud on his account, and BOA froze the 3 grand or so in the account... and he can't get the money out!Comment

freak right the fuck out and keep screaming at the branch manager. my wife was dealing with that stuff (mentioned above) and she can be a tyrant. everyone she talked to kept telling her the error was hers etc.. the more aggressive she got... of course, suddenly things got figured out.
its not "Bank of America" - people generally don't realize the extent to which branches are ran as independent businesses. The bank manager of one branch creates many of the rules that branch operates by or has the full authority to get shit done.
The problem is that there is an assumption that you can call customer service and get something done but that really isn't useful. Customer service is just there to answer retarded questions from retarded people. If you want action, you need to go to that branch and raise hell.Comment

Only bank I've never had any problems with has been National City.
I used to use Bank One/Chase but after a few instances of deposits just disappearing or being undercredited by hundreds of dollars, um... fuck them.Give me money & buy my links here, damn it!Comment

bofa has a fraud department, they put a massive amount like that when they even "think" there is fraud on the account or some odd activity to get the attention of the account holder...looks like they got your attention!
