You really think those farmers want to cultivate coca? They do it for two reasons. One... nothing else is profitable enough to pay for their homes and families. Two... if they don't, they get their shit taken from them and likely lose their lives.

They don't make much at all anyway. Just enough to get by. The muscle makes the money.

I spent some time in Peru in my band back in the 1980s touring for CBS Records South America.

Every person in Peru was eating Coca leaves. The peasants did it to keep from being hungry. (there is no middle class, you're either rich or you live in mud)

We stayed in a mansion in the mountains outside of Lima. We had full security guards with machine guns (because we were American and the Shining Path Maoist guerilla army wanted to kidnap any Americans they could)

Those people had cultivated and grown Coca plants for centuries. They always have and always will.

And when you snorted their cocaine, it was like heaven. It was pure (obviously).

You were able to snort a few fat lines, and then sit down to a big meal. Snort some more and fuck a whore. Then hit a couple of more lines and go to sleep.

It had all the "good" effects of the shit we do in the U.S. But NONE of the effects of the "cut"

The cut is what makes it so damn bad and so unhealthy. And THAT is because the U.S. govt. made it illegal a few decades ago. Up until then it was used just like caffeine.

Remember? Coca Cola was one of several "miracle" beverages that contained it.

Real cocaine is a natural substance grown from coca plants.

The negative side effects that are being described by people in this thread are ALL related to the "cut" that drug dealers throw on it to make more profit (that didn't happen when it was legal)

The "need to take a shit" sensation is when people cut it with cheap Manitol (baby laxative)

The "dick shrinking", "heart racing", "jaw grinding" and general feeling of jumpiness is from the drug dealers cutting it with cheap speed and/or mini thins.
That's also what would cause any burning sensation at all.

The coke we did in Lima was coke handed to me by the doctors, lawyers, the mayor, the governor and other politicians that were hanging with us. It had NONE of those side effects.

And though I've never been to Columbia, I have a friend who spent a lot of time there last year. He was calling me telling me the same thing about the coke there. He is pretty well off and had rented Escobar's old mansion. lol How's that for irony! And he was partying on it and fucking whores and eating big meals and getting plenty of sleep too.

You can't do that on the cut stuff in the U.S.
