I tell my cambabes to use Logitech WebCam C600 or WebCam Pro combined with CamZoomer and camsplitter from softservice.org,,, CamZoomer allows the model to move the camera using the keyboard and CamSplitter allows you to chat on multiple camsites at same time(or can use manycam.com for free).

If you want a motorized base so the model can move the camera using a remote control check out trackercam.com

what is preventing people that do webcams from just using a small camcorder? you would end up with far superior optics, they are no longer expensive, easy to tripod mount which also can be motorized and remote controlled, camera also can be controlled via remote. you also end up with all of your shows on tape.

so cheap, great optics, great zooms, possible flip display screen, actions can be controlled via remote, and rock solid recordings.

Well most people probably don't know how to connect the camcorder to the computer and run it so it works? I think most webcams come with instructions and a cd so it's pretty much idiot proof.

But if someone ran like a cam studio, then I wouldn't know. I'm curious too.

I've seen a few webcam sites tell the models that they need a webcam or camcorder to do camshows. I guess the performers who have the HD tag are running off a camcorder and high sped connection.
