    Need a new travel laptop

Mostly e-mails, web browsing, some light coding with a text-based editor.

I will want to do some simple image editing from time to time. Mostly resizing, cropping, and simple filters, etc. The general stuff you do when posting pics from your travels.

I won't be playing games on this. No need for high-end graphics.

Should be light, have killer battery life, and no bigger than 15". I have a 17" now and it sucks for travel.

Should have a DVD player built in. I hate having to use external drives when I travel.

Nothing else seems important at the moment.

I love my little Netbook...but they don't have DVD drives.

For something bigger but not too big, the new 13'' Macbook Pros are nice.

      Spend you some brain.

Thanks for the suggestions. Can a netbook run photoshop for simple work? I'd expect it would take 15 minutes to load.

I could always use something like SnagIt's editor for the quick edits.

Yep. I have it installed on mine and it runs now problem. I'm not editing huge files or trying to do any major design stuff on it, but it does work no problem.

The lack of DVD drive isn't all that bad. Not with Flash memory being dirt cheap these days.

That looks sweet. They say i that with the bigger battery it'll last up to 9 freakin' hours.

I need to see if they sell them here in Panama. Shipping would take three weeks

My 17" Dell is great for on the deck at home, or at shows - anywhere I'm seriously working on it, but not for normal travel. Too damn heavy, not enough battery life.

My eyes suck, so a 13" screen is about as low as I can go
