Mango is underrated, probably because there's an extremely small window when its good. When a Mango is ripe, there's nothing better. I'll eat that fucker like a goddamn slobbering savage, and I don't care who sees me do it.

every time i eat them i break out with a huge rash all over my face... i react to it like its poison ivy or something
Me too... I was fine eating them, until one day somebody mentioned they were in the poison ivy family, and now i get rashes whenever i touch that fruit! It's so good, i usually don't care, and eat it anyways.
It is same botanic family, but in context I personally do not think of it as "fruit". As apples and bananas... Nuts are also fruit, but I do think of it only as... nuts. Even if the biology is universal, the language, daily use of the words, differs from countries. I do not exactly know what is common usage of the words in english speaking countries, and I have never given it a thought. Until now
Anyfruit, but it has to be home grown and ripened on the vine. Grapes are an example, you have never really eaten then til you have pinched a bunch off someones vine on a hot summers day and popped them one by one.
We have blackberry vines that run the entire length of our backyard fence down here. Been growing there since before i was born... So many grow its impossible to pick them all, I freeze bags of them and eat them all year round.
I love pears. I love apple crisp so I will have to try the pear crisp. I also like taking a can of pears, drain them really good and drizzle them with cream cheese icing and sprinkle with cinnamon. Its incredible.
blackberries, when in season
and when in season, nothing better than a good strawberry...such a difference in taste between strawberries in season and greenhouse grown strawberries...
Figs are also fantastic with cheese but they are expensive and usually only sold at fancy food markets. They used to grow like weeds back home in South Africa, so I hate paying $10 for 3 figs. And gooseberries are my favourite berry

We use to have fresh blackberries that grew in the woods right behind us. We use to pick them for months and freeze them. Made the best blackberry cobbler.
Was always hard to not eat all of them when you were picking them! : )
