toplists, topsites, nichetoplists...
I've read, toplists were very popular in 1996-1998.
Nowadays, when a newbie asks for advice, he gets replies like "start making and submitting 1 gallery per day" or "start a free / avs site or a tgp". But not "start a good niche toplist". or "free sites by using toplist traffic" I know that many TGP's ( like Thumbzilla ) have a kind of toplist, but I am talking here about "normal" (niche) toplists. so I'd like to hear any feedback from you on this...

90% of all the toplists i have ever seen has some kind of pedo/underage text going on... so i say

that's certainty, but 90% bullshit You can find mostly on lolita sites, but still there is lot of nice traffic at least in my case
