Fuck, what the hell is wrong with the idiots that do this shit? The domains fletch mentioned for example, why on earth would someone turn it into a porn domain? Get yourself into some non-adult affiliate programs and promote shit like eBay collectibles or something. You'd probably make more anyways.
Some people are so fucking thick. Porn isn't the only way to make money. Goddamn inbreds. |
You can only beat a spammer with spam.:BangBang:

Remember Chicken Littles:
By the time something effective gets posted on this board (usually by some dumbass newb) - it's already been pummelled near to death by everyone else. Real professionals don't post their secrets, whether they're ethical ones or not, only the morons do. So, your worries about Google "fucking everyone" are unwarranted. I'm sure Google is quite aware of the situation, and they employ more raw brainpower than the sum IQ of this BBS, I'm sure they'll be able to deal with some dumbass spammers. Cheers, Backov |
Wheres Wiredguy, hes the SE guru...what does he have to say on this?

What happens if 11 people take your advice?

My thoughts on this... it kind of works. I know first hand because I used to do it about a 16 months ago when Google's ranking formula's were rather slow and inept. Then this thing called ethics started to kick in. This techniques leads to very temporary traffic. Say you get the number one spot on a domain name that expired in an unrelated category. It will be a week or at most 3 weeks before your delisted. It's not because DMOZ editors are lazy, but rather your competition that will rat on you to Google and you then get the ban. Rather than getting your domain or IP block banned, it's better to develop quality domains and build your traffic. There are categories in DMOZ (Adult) which have good PR boosts and its easier to get listed there than playing the 1-3 week game. I have some listings on DMOZ that have been there for over a year and I still get traffic from those and from the Google boost they give. So if you want to jump from domain to domain every month, be my guest. I prefer to stay in this business in the long term, for years, not 1-3 weeks. You won't get much repeat traffic if Google changes their algo. WG PS: Thanks Slim! |
By the way, you linking directly to your sponsors (via FPA) isn't that great an idea. There's more effective ways to get that number 5 spot to number 1 or 2. I won't post them though since I don't want to encourage this type of activity.

If you were exploring a bit you would notice that BOTH domains have been already DELETED from DMOZ directories LONG time ago because DMOZ editors do care what's in their listings. Only problem is that google directories haven't been updated yet. After next dance both domains will be history. Yes this is one possibility how to get into google but only for short time and it's the best way how to get into problems. I personally really like to report hijacked domains to editors and they respond fast. XM |
bigdaddyc187:
Just download a link checker and scan dmoz categories with high PageRank. Look for domains which are soon to expire or expired. |
Already someone having success picing expired gems?

Google is/has/will be changing their algo to remove all PR from sites that expire to plug up this hole. This is old news in the google world and won't work anymore or for very long anymore.

Old information. There was even a thread here about it. Use s e a r c h before posting. Search for 'no more free bananas' and you'll find that old thread. shouldn't you be reporting spammers, queer bait? |
There's much easier ways to get a high PR without any real work and without spending money. They also don't force kids to see porn. From what I've seen a handfull of webmasters know about them but I personally haven't tried the methods as it's kind of a grey area, even though it really doesn't negatively affect anyone else.
Idea: would anyone run a program or script to automatically scan DMOZ and google for spammers and report them if I wrote one? |
