Preferrably, someone who has represented you. Not just someone you read about, although that might work too.

Mattel is harrassing me, and I'd rather seek advice than play. I am certain they have no case, but want an attorney's opinion.

My girl is mostly handling it, as she does most of the issues like this.

For the record.

I am NOT infringing on them in anyway such as 'Barbie-Sex.com'

I never register domains with products or items known to be affiliated, owned, ?, or trademarked by companies, especially Mattel or specifically their branch that is sueing me 'Fisher Price.'

These big companies issue these threatening letters anytime they find a domain they think someone shouldn't have registered.

This is all it is.

They demand I turn domains over to them in 3 days and I must make a written statement regarding it, I do not think this tactic is or should be practicied.

They threaten me, and I think I should ask someone about this one.

I dont like being bullied, especially when its such an obvious 'no case' situation.

In the papers they sent me, they had the audacity to scan about 6 pages of Court Cases they have initiated in defense of their trademarks.

Most of the cases are thrown out due to Mattels 'prejudice' against others using words related to their trademarks.

They have no case, and its obvious in the cases they sent me, they always lose, but Im thinking, maybe they still will just keep hassling me and take me to court to hurt me financially ya know..

Its harrassment in my eyes.

And I seek council, as its my right to defense.

I myself own two domain names intended to satirize well-known sites. How to use them is a touchy issue, though. I certainly can't use them to deceive the public into thinking they are at the original site (nor would I want to). They are for having fun with. Satire gets a LOT of protection under both copyright and trademark law. Satire doesn't provide quite as much shelter as copyright, though. The courts apparently may side with the complainant if the satire is distasteful (e.g., using Coca-Cola's logotype to make a new logo on the word "Cocaine"). The domains: attemptedsuicidegirls.com and snuffbus.com (the latter I just bought today). If anybody thinks they have an especially good way for both of us to make some money off these domains, get in touch (ICQ 48201505) or write [email protected].

Despite the name, I would not make a site out of snuffbus.com where guys pick up girls, fuck them, then kill them. Though one where hot girls do that (all simulated, of course) might be a good "man bites dog" kind of site.

My cousin went to court once (he fell down some stairs in his apartment complex. He was naked and soapy from the shower and went downstairs to get something to cut the zip-tie from around his balls. Well anyway he slipped going down the stairs, and got knocked out. His neighbor called the police because of the "racket he was making" The medics had to remove the zip-tie before he did permenant damage to my balls, I mean his balls.)
