I refuse to give money to "homeless" people who are obviously young and healthy. We have millions of illegal Mexican peasants who can manage to get jobs, so why not them?

However, I was in downtown L.A. recently and saw an old man digging through a trashcan for food. I tried to give him $5 so he could buy a sandwich, but he refused it, and was obviously mentally ill in some way.

My local news station followed one of these "homeless" people home to their penthouse and their stay-at-home wife. She griped about how he couldn't shower for his job. They were living an amazing life. He's still out there and still making money. It's been many years since that story...I guess people forgot or don't care, or treat him like a business and patronize his business?!

I used to be pretty good at some sign language when I was younger. My mom and I were in the mall and a guy approached us and handed us a card that asked for donations stating he was deaf. It had the sign language alphabet on the other side. I asked him something in sign language, I think it was his name. He just stared at me shocked for a few minutes and turned and hurried away real quick.

Back in the drifter days when I was a fruit picker there were a couple of fucking amazing hippy bitches kicking around out in Okanagon doing the cherry scene. Lots of sexy little french chicks getting around. If you gave them a bath and brushed their hair, they could have been met-girls. but i dunno if you'd quite consider a bunch of stoned french hippy chicks drifting around the valley homeless. They at least picked cherries for their change. most had tents... :1orglaugh
