Depending on your target country audience and how good coded is your cms you can cut bw costs to near $100 per 100 mbit dedicated line on a low end hardware unmanaged server.

Of course, none of the current commercial cms allows you to do that, so saving money on your site script makes you burn more money on the long run.

Threads like this make me think that I'm overpaying my hosting.

                I'm just a newbie.

We've got fully managed quadcore servers at $400/mo with 100mbps of dedicated bandwidth.

Sandman is pretty much on the ball though - from there you can go up and up depending on the hardware you need.

I'm not a guy that knows jack about servers or coding. Can you please give me the cliff notes on how your CMS code can cost you more BW money?

Let me explain this to you in a manner that you will understand.

You are trying to get 4 ladyboy's back to your house for some "god only knows what goes on at your house" fun..

The taxi only fits you plus 3 ladyboy's.

                              Do you:

                              A) Put 2 ladyboy's in another cab and take 2 ladyboy's with you in the first cab?
                              B) Put 1 ladyboy in another cab and take 3 ladyboy's with you in the first cab?
                              C) Put the hottest 3 ladyboy's in the cab and make the 4th ladyboy walk to your house and put the money for the second cab in your pocket.

                              The correct answer is:

Kill the cab driver, load up those 4 ladyboy's in the cab and head full speed back to your place...

That should clearly explain how CMS can cost you additional bandwidth...

Don't let threads like this get to you. You will see a big difference in hosts where you pay 300-500 bucks for 100mbps compared to hosts that charge 1200-2000 dollars per 100mbits. Bandwidth is not the only cost. Quality support and networks costs money.

Yep, we've got a promo running where you get the 4th month free with a 3 month upfront payment, making the total cost for 4 months ($400 / 4) = $300/mo. After that it's the still great rate of $400/mo.

This is all new hardware also, nothing that's been rotting on a rack for a long time.

We also provide ALL servers with Remote Reboot and this one also comes with KVMoIP!

If you'd like any more info, please feel free to hit me up for more details, as I'd love to show you why we're such a great company to work with.
