Buyer protection from Western Union?
I am trying to buy tickets from someone, but they live kinda far away and do not have paypal, nor will they set it up. They suggested cashiers check (thinking i would send them a fake personal check) or WU.
Ive only used WU to pay for development, but not to buy anything. Do they offer any type of buyer protection? I checked on the site but does not look so good.

If you send money with Western Union, consider it gone.

Thats what I figured.
I even called the bank and they said I would be covered by a wire transfer, so I went to the branch and the manager said no way would I be covered. wow, good thing they have their story straight.

Best advice i've read on here about WU yet....
It is any wonder why scammers prefer Western Union over any other type of payment type?

^ what he said.
WU was developed (and advertised) for people to send money to those they know, not people you don't know. Even dealing with WU for people I do know (used to get paid years ago) it was a royal pain in the ass and honestly I never want to use the service again. |
