Billy Collins took a straight fist to the face for 30 minutes...

fucked up...

Luis Resto and Billy Collins in 1983 fought in madison square and Resto's trainer, Panama Lewis, took the padding out of his gloves. Basically the fight went on for 10 rounds and Billy Collins, undefeated at that time, head turned into a watermelon because he was hit with plaster covered hands and no padding for the entire fight.

Fucked up shit... Billy died a year later by committing suicide. Panama Lewis has trained or advised fighters since like Mike Tyson and some other current names.

Wow. I find boxing completely distasteful, but there is a level of trust that should go into that kind of physical competition where there is real risk. I can't imagine how betrayed he must have felt.

That is an interesting story, a tragedy really.

Here is the last round of the fight. I have been trying to find the full fight but can't.

Resto's handwraps were also made of plaster of paris. That kid was getting hit by rocks, and still went 10 rounds. Unreal...

I watched it, It looked more like the story turned. The Collins family started thinking they would win a fat lawsuit, moreover I am starting to think Billy Collins wrecked his car maybe for insurance money, but instead it was ruled suicide.

The whole situation is fucked up, Of course the resto was hiding the truth, and so was panama. But really they did not kill Billy Collins.

It just sucks to see a grown man cry like that, I feel more sorry for Resto for what the conspirers did, poor guy was never able to grow up and is haunted.

Yeah... I saw the story. Then it kinda stuck to me...

the truth was never told when it needed to be. Resto is a has been that needed the truth to come out 20 years ago... the problem is the truth means he knew exactly what was going on. Billy... well he drank himself to death...

Panama is still training underground... I feel sympathy for collins' wife...
