it's easy to get the link but they will be able to block your hotlinking. there's really no point in doing it, unless you're targeting small/amateur tubes ???

I think if you run it through their player it makes it very hard to block, I'm far from a pro at that but think I read similar on this board.

yes, but trough their player it will surely include a link to their site, their ads, etc...

Ya thats what I do

on a sidenote, redtube.com allows hotlinking on videos, well not allowed, but it works, they dont disable it.

I wrote a shell script which takes a redtube id, and gives the direct url.

[chris@jet ~]$ ./redtube.sh 2022

I think Web Activity Monitor has a free trial with a nag screen if you want to try that. You'll be able to see all the requests and details.

It will be interesting when tubes moved from HTTP to RTMP, but I doubt they will want to spend the money.

Hulu for example makes it so hard to copy but new tools are coming out
