Yes, I have no doubt about these things. He is talented and has a nice reputation, this is why I picked him for this project, what is actually very important for me.

I am shocked that things went so far, but believe me: there's nothing I can do and I can't wait an hour longer for him.

Thanks for the stranger who called JD, I finally got the PSD files, and consider the situation resolved on a minimum level, so I am asking gfy ppl to NOT bump this thread anymore.

i see him post all day long here, and getting new projects too, i wonder why he had no time for your projects?

maybe you're one hell of picky person and very difficult to deal with

or

the designer are too lazy to finished the work that has been paid

if you paid him 100% get the 20% since its 80% done

It takes a lot to piss of shanti matyko.... good to hear things "worked out".

Everyone who knows me can assure you: I am extremely hard to piss off. What I do here is very very far from what I am and how I like things getting resolved. This was a last option, and thankfully it worked.

This is obvious, but this is something I absolutely won't discuss and handle via the boards.

I describe a little better what resolved means here: I got the PSD files uploaded to my server, so I was able to hire someone to finish the job. I still have no clue how much will I have to spend on this, but at least now I now it will be done, up and running in a very short time.

I've started this project on 16th Oct 2009, and JD was asking so little I added $100 to the sum and paid him 100% upfront immediately.

The first draft was ready very soon, but later it got harder and harder to contact him, and to see progression with the project.

I told him in the beginning I will need some extras later like matching gallery templates and banners for the project and when we are ready with the tour we can continue with those. I had an idea to motivate him, and collected what I'll need later, and asked for a custom quote for the pack. He gave me a price what I found acceptable and paid him in like 10 seconds.

Meanwhile I bought paid spots from many different TGPs directly and via GTS as well, plus bought quality hardlink packages as well [-->thanks bloggers!! ;)], hired text professional writer [-->thanks Silicuda!] and professional marketing and SEO consultants [-->thanks DX and 2bet!]. Everybody was working on this, or I should say, everybody was waiting for the tour to be ready. What haven't happened.

After asking JD several times wtf is going on [I even saw his threads here advertising he is taking orders w nice discounts [some I even bumped for him..] and after several promises I told him the level of stress became so high for me it has a very bad effect on my private family life as well, so we need to finish or I need to look for someone else. He promised he'll finish and asked me to summarize what he has to do, but haven't done nothing for days again. Meanwhile the sponsor reported me they finished populating the db on my server and copying all the content, so they said I need 3-4 hours of work from a php/mysql guy to finish this and have everything up and running. [btw obviously if he would have said it costs extra from my side, no problem I pay like little angel. If he would have said he doesn't want to do this, no problem, I hire a coder]

Than I decided to make a deadline and gave 24 hours to JD before I am looking for a replacement. I was so nervous and stressed, I decided to do this for real and when time was up I made a thread here looking for the replacement and of course emailed and icqd JD to let him know he only has to upload the work he already done]. And btw ~5hrs before the time was up I emailed and icqd him asking for some opinion.

When I woke up this morning and found no work done, no PSDs I opened this thread. Luckily a friend of him noticed it and called him, and he uploaded the necessary files...

As I feel my project is in proper hands again I admit I have no hard feelings toward JD, everyone can have difficult periods in his life, the only thing I don't understand is why he didn't tell me earlier that he has no 'appetite' to finish this, as I highlighted several times this is urgent and very important for me.

I still think he is a very talented designer, I am not saying he is a bad pick for anyone, for any projects. But I would go with him again only if we have a real ETA for a 'bigger' project like this.

I also pay my orders 100% in advance, atleast to "trustworthy" guys.

He strung you along with little to no contact, then hands you over a half done project very late with no explanation. Why would you not have some hard feelings toward him? He hasn't even refunded all or at least a big portion of your payment to him.

a little odd that he would consider future projects with him as well. nothing against jd but ....
