Which digital slr do you use?
My main camera has been good but it is starting to flake out and I think I am going to use this as the time to step up to digital slr. I am looking for something that isn't mega advanced but will push me a bit.
Which do you use and would you recommend it? |

Get a Canon 1 series, that will bulge your biceps and put hair on your chest.
![]() Seriously though, choose a brand (more specifically, a lens mount) 'cos ideally you'll be sticking with it. Your lenses will keep working years after the body is obsolete. |

I love my Nikon d80 with its 18-200mm nikkor lens. I heartily recommend it to anyone.
I'd also recommend getting the twin Nikon rechargeable powercells for it - mine are going on two years of constant daily use and still hold a perfect charge. |

Canon 10D, 20D and I am ordering a 40D this week.
Sometimes this stuff is addicting and it never seems to end. next will be an additional wish lens

I got the Canon 500D (Digital Rebel T1i in the US). It's quite nice for an amateur camera

I have a Canon EOS Rebel XS, which I've really fallen in love with.
It's a nice mid-priced camera that I have been using quite a bit lately. You can pick one up for about $500. |

I went to a shop yesterday thinking that would actually help make up my mind but it has just muddled it more.
My uncle is nuts about his Sony a350 and that does look nice but not sure about future lenses with it. Another friend is big about the Canon EOS 450D as being a good step up camera. Ugh. |

Jon..does it have silent shooting? Firstly, I like taking candids and secondly, I hate clicky sounds when I take shots.
