Should search engine results be influenced by SOCIAL relevancy?

    Should search engine results be influenced by SOCIAL relevancy?

    I'm sure by now, you've heard of the use of Twitter search as a "search engine" function. Looking deeper, should "social relevancy" from these sites influence search results from REAL search engines?

    Here's one possible look into the future http://www.readwriteweb.com/archives...vancy_rank.php

    This is important because if this happens, search results will be MORE OPEN to manipulation. Just try doing a search on Twitter and you'll see more SPICED HAM than a trip to a Hormel factory.

      and yeah, things are going to change, probably for the worse, but the spammers are ruining things in a big way the way things are being done none already, google serps are a mess... things were better 5 years ago

          If it does become a ranking factor, then it'll be easily abused by spammers.
